Hello, Can anyone please give me advice on this Diamond (GIA cert):

Round Brilliant
Measurements: 6.80 - 6.87 x 4.12
Weight: 1.15 carat
Depth: 60.3%
Table: 56%
Girdle: Medium, Faceted
Cutlet: None
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Clarity: VS2
Color: I
Flourescence: None

Price: $5,175 (I''m buying from a "friend of a friend" that is a wholesaler. I think I can trust him, but I''m not 100% sure.)

I was told it was hearts and arrows. The only aspect I''m really skeptical on is the I color, but I''ve read that if the "I" is cut well, it will still look good.

Any advice on price and/or quality would be greatly appreciated!

The same price seems to correspond to diamonds cut to "ideal proportions" here (to be found on the first page "Search by cut quality (known HCA)"). For example: this 1.2 I-VS2 and THIS.

"Harts and Arrows" means different standards of precission to different sellers - some would typically carry a premium over your quote, some not. The tutorial on top of this page explains what such a precise H&A stone looks like. From your description, I cannot deduce wether the respective piece fits the bill.

i just got back identical weight and grade as the stone you're describing here except mine is graded by AGS ideal 0 cut. the price you stated is a very good price if it's an ideal cut with hearts and arrows. as for the eye color, i wouldn't worry about it. once it's set it's very hard to tell the difference from an H. everybody here on PS will ask you to get a sarin report since it's a GIA cert diamond to determine the cut quality.
