Hello all and thank you in advance,

I really need some expert advice on a couple of diamonds that I have on hold with JA:

Diamond 1: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.02-carat-i-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-267195
Diamond 2: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.01-carat-h-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-280790

Diamond 1 HCA = 1.2
Diamond 2 HCA = 1.4

Diamond 1 Price = $5340
Diamond 2 Price = $5710

The JA gemologist has viewed both diamonds and has reassured me that both are eye clean. Which do you think I should go with, or should I keep looking. I am looking for a 1ct RB less than $6000. Thanks again.

I really need some advice here. I dont want to get the wrong stone. Price scopers please help me out.

Thanks JulieN. Any reason why you didn't like the two stones I have on hold? I noticed that the stone that you recommended scored a HCA of 2.4, should I be concerned with that? Thanks again for your help.

They both appear to be good stones. For some reason I like the "I" better but its just personal taste. If you want a slightly
higher color than go with the H. Did you ask for the gemologist to look at them and tell you what they see? They will be able
To tell you if one is slightly brighter than the other and hopefully other details that we cant see from the numbers.

Edit. That one that Julie picked has more the typical angles that tend to be favored on PS. You could ask the gemologist to throw that into the
mix and have all 3 evaluated to see which one is the nicest.

Thanks so much tyty333. I was drawn to the "I" diamond as well for some reason. Here is what the JA rep told me:

"I took the liberty of having one of our graduate gemologists inspect your diamonds to make sure you are properly informed for such an important purchase. I am pleased to share with you that diamond 280790 is exceptionally bright and offers great light performance. It's completely eye clean, has a true "H" color, and performs the strongest of your selections.

Diamond 267195 has great light performance and ranks a very close second for brightness. Additionally, it's eye clean and possesses a true "I" color. Diamonds 280790 and 267195 are both fantastic options and I believe you'll be happy with either of them, but I encourage you to consider diamond 280790 if you want the maximum fire, brilliance, and scintillation. Please take a moment to review this information and let me know if you have any additional questions."

Now, I'm not sure if this was just them trying to sell me the more expensive stone based on the higher color grade, or if it truly is the brighter stone, but I'm still drawn to the I stone.

I think JA is giving their honest opinion. We have also seen them recommend the least
expensive stones in these situation as well. I would take them at their word.

I will definitely ask JA to include Julie's recommendation. Do you think that the proportions of the two stones on hold are good? I'm very new to this so I'm sry for all of the questions. I just want to make sure that I get my wife-to-be the best stone that I can within my means. Thanks again.

The hca of my suggestion is fine. It has a bit more crown height at 14%.

It is an excellent choice if it is eye-clean.

Is it just me or does the vs2 diamond look more brilliant in the 360 view. Is that just because of the higher clarity grade?
