Wow!! Those are beautiful!! I''m going surfing now....

I hated HATED bra shopping until I found Cosabella.

I now only have Cosabella bras. I threw away all my old random bras from VS and other places that never really fit me. These bras are a life-changing experience. They use Italian sizes so the numbers go from 1-5 and they have a sizing chart on the website I order them from where you compare your measurements and figure out what number you are. I am a 2.
1.gif
It''s the only place I''ve ever been able to wear a 2.
9.gif

The Cosabella "Soire" collection is their flagship line and absolutely worth every penny. I buy 2 bras at the beginning of the year and replace them at the end of the year with 2 new ones. They are well-constructed and stand up to washing, seamless under shirts and unbelievably comfortable. I like the Soire demi because it''s a little bit more sexy, but the Soire full coverage is great too.

And like I said, I order them from a website so I can bra shop in the comfort of my own home!

I never thought of being ''fitted'' for a bra, because I always walked in VS or Macy''s, picked a 34B off the rack and made due. Some fit better than others depending on the brand, but all were basically OK. The Cacique lady measured me, told me I have a very small ribcage and told me my ideal size was really a 32C (which Cacique made in almost every bra). Now there''s no way on earth that I''m actually a C because I pretty much have very little going on up front, but the decreased band size (which fit better) required me to go up a cup size. It made me feel normal instead of being told I''m small all the time
3.gif
.
I used to think the same thing. I always thought I was a 34A but after getting measured for my wedding dress I was told I am a 30C
23.gif
- I know, I know WTF?? but at least I''m now a C cup
9.gif

It sounds like everyone is about ready to have a bra-burning party over here!!

But I'll ditto on the hating bra shopping. It bites. So do seatbelts - - so uncomfortable!

Thanks for suggestions, ladies.
I will look them up.
Seatbelts have never been a problem for me---I don''t even notice that they''re there.
I also have had people ask me if I have back problems from having a larger chest, and I don''t. I am small around the shoulders and back but I have wide shoulders that support everything just fine.
Exercise helps a lot with the falling down issue. I mean, I''m sure it will happen to all of us eventually, but exercising the arms and back muscles (weightlifting) delays it. I''m actually not having problems in that area yet, and my seventy-nine year old mother who is overweight, but well exercised and has always been chesty, is really in pretty good shape in that area.

, but those 32Cs from Cacique used to fit like they were custom made for me. I decided to just forget the numbers and letters and just try to find something close to a decent fit.

I''ve never heard of any company making a 30" band size. Can you tell me who makes 30Cs and 32Cs these days? I''m back to wearing 34Bs because I haven''t been able to find any in my right size. (I just measured myself sitting here and even 12 or more years later and post menopausal, I''m still 30" around my ribs)

I hear ya! I''m 5''8" & 129lbs but I think if I put on another 50lbs I''d still be a 30"
9.gif
Anyway I still wear 34A because I can never find 30C

Londongirl1, there are actually a few companies that make and carry 30Cs in the UK, but if you live here in the US, visit this website and search 30C. Seven different bras will come up to choose from. Calvin Klein has a couple of styles that come in your size and LeMystere has a really pretty one. The Scarlet Hybrid bra is very sexy.

Hmmm.... I have heard similar stories from my sisters and lady freinds most of my life.

The one thing that I don't understand - why is there not some kind of "bra taylors" in each major city that can custom make you a bra that fits.

Standard clothing sizes are typically aimed at the 80% normal (and even then often do not fit well). Specialty stores cater to the next 10%, but the last 10% is always left out.

I fall outside of the norms for dress shirts. I can only get a proper fitting dress shirt if I have it taylored for me. Every major city has a high end mens dress clothing store that taylors makes shirts for those of us who need them (not cheap: $75+ per shirt - and you have to order at least 3 at once - and some stores it 5 or more). But, they fit right - and are very very durable (cost of materials is a minimal part - so they can use the best materials).

Perhaps there's a business oportunity there for someone. I'd offer - but I suspect that many gals would hesitate if it was a guy taking your measurments, discussing the details, and doing the final fitting...
9.gif
But perhaps its something to think about - at least I'd enjoy my job

Thanks, Perry!! You absolutely right that there should be some custom/semi-custom options with tailoring available!! I expect that the historically traditional subserviant role women held in society has kept that opportunity from developing. Hmmmmm...... now you have me thinking. (which often gets me into trouble)

I managed to find a few comfortable and pretty bras recently and was chuffed to have won.

Steel: 1 Bra shopping: 0

But when I was tidying up this morning I found one of them (the prettiest, IMO) behind the dog''s bed chewed right through the two cups, I knew it was too good to last. Comfortable, pretty & ''easy to buy'' bras are the holy grail. Even if you do find them, the dog will chew ''em up...

Steel, I was my girlfriend''s MOH six years ago and I looked high and low for a bra to wear with my two piece gown in a sapphire or navy blue color. I came close at VS with a pale sapphire color. I came home with the bra pleased with myself that I got something even close, dropped all of my things on the dining room table and left the room for a while to change and start dinner. When I came back to pick up my VS bag, I found that my older dog (who was two but still a puppy at heart) had chewed the straps and the sides off of my new blue bra.
And it was the only one in the store in my size!! I freaked out for two minutes and then thought, wait...... I''m just going to snip the sides clean, snip the straps off and do some very neat hand sewing. I sewed the bra perfectly and then stitched it into my duchess silk and damask top of the gown and to tell you the truth? I was more comfortable that way then I would have been had I been actually wearing the bra!

Thank you Cassie!

Thank God neither one them chews anymore.

So without further ado, for our much loved DF ......

Here''s my favorite. It''s Leilani by Cabernet. There is good coverage and support, with additional side boning to keep the "girls" centered. And it is pretty and doesn''t have 53 hooks in the back.

And this is the t-shirt bra. Lightly lined, underwire, with a smooth and discrete look under clingy tops. Remember, I'm a 34DD, so these bras are for WOMEN WITH CURVES!

I don''t mind bra shopping.. not really. But I hate that different stores bras fit differently. There is seriously a consipiracy against women.

BIG FAT FREAKING DITTO!!!

Even when it comes to bras, which you would think are easy to standardize...they''re just a number for the band and a letter for the cup! BUT I constantly find that different bra companies run large or small. Like VS for example...they definitely run small. I''m either a 32B or a 34A, depending on who''s measuring, and I fill out a 34B from VS. That''s so not standardized!

I should probably get measured again though. My body has changed just a tad because I''ve been working out more, so I''ve gained a bit of muscle (including the lats, which should figure into band measurement) and lost a bit of fat (including the booblets). I''m probably more on the 34A end of things right now.

What do you gals think of the Playtex bras that make cups in half-sizes? I have an "almost B" in one of their bras and I like it. Do you think half-sizes are useful?

Very clever! Mine went in the bin just a few hours ago. The minx chewed right through the connecting centre panel. All the King''s horses and men couldn''t do zip for me...

I''m surprised at how many of you have a hard time finding bras that fit! I just go into VS, pick up the same size, and I''m done!

I feel like maybe I''m doing it wrong since it''s so easy...
Me too!! I must be messing this up somehow.

On a side note, I really like Natori bras. They''re my favorite.
