I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

OMG!!!!! This is gorgeous @Matata. You did a wonderful job. I hope you are as excited about your greenhouse as I am looking at the picture of it. I’m thrilled for you.

+ a million

The thermostat wars have begun. It is 9:13 pm and DH was walking down the hall toward the bathroom when the shuffling of his feet stopped and quiet echoed throughout the house. Are you messing with the thermostat I inquired? Silence. Shuffling commenced. Two minutes later the house begins to chill, icicles start forming on the ceiling and with an evil smirk on my face, I reach for my phone and silently adjust the temp back to above freezing. He will eventually attempt to creep silently back to the thermostat as I, in bed, my face bathed in the glow of my cell phone, turn the temp back up to above freezing before he makes it back to bed and there we'll be in the dark -- he silently smirking because he turned it down and me victoriously smirking because I have the app.

✨ Meryl Streep once beautifully said: "Let things fall apart. Stop exhausting yourself trying to hold them together."

We often cling tightly to situations, relationships, and ideas that are already slipping away, fearing the uncertainty of what comes next. But life has its own wisdom, a rhythm of beginnings and endings. Not everything is meant to last forever—and trying to force it only drains our strength.

Allow people to misunderstand or judge you.
Their reactions are mirrors of their own worldviews, not a reflection of your worth. Your truth doesn't require validation from those determined to misunderstand it.

Embrace uncertainty.
Stop obsessing about the future as if life hasn't already mapped out your path. When loss occurs, it often clears the way for something better. Trust that what's meant for you won't pass you by.

Release attachment.
The universe continuously creates new opportunities, love, and purpose—but you must first make room for them by letting go of what no longer serves you.

✨ Remember: The best days aren't behind you. Life never runs out of beauty or joy, no matter how tough your journey has been. Ask yourself today: "What am I holding onto that is holding me back?" Let it go. Something brighter is already waiting to take its place.

I love my dh so much
I can’t do it justice with words but I never thought I could love someone this much
Super grateful we found each other against all odds

It's funny not in a haha way how things can cascade. I've been wanting to replace the area rug in the living room. It's too small and hasn't held up well. Decision made.

Then my eyes fell upon the chair and a half that I still like but it's too soft and DH and I need firm backs on our chairs so I'm going to replace that.

Then I thought well, what will I replace it with, one chair, 2 chairs? What if I don't replace it at all but replace the couch with a sectional which I didn't want when I redid the living room because I was getting rid of one and wanted a change?

Then I thought, well if I do the sectional will the table that now resides between the couch and chair still work and what about the floor lamp behind the chair.

Then I met with my interior designer today and she said what about a curved couch instead of a sectional and I like that idea.

Then we found a moroccan rug on sale that is totally different from the original design of the entire living room she redid 5 years ago but has all the colors in the pieces I'm keeping as well as the colors in 2 large prints on each side of the fireplace. Bought it.

As she was leaving to begin her search for the perfect couch, she said "The dining room table top should be granite and I said YES because that's what I wanted 5 years ago but for some reason decided on wood. So I said add it to the list. Then she said "Do you still like the chairs?"

This entire episode started because last week when I was wringing my hands over our finances DH said "Don't worry honey we have plenty of money, more than we'll be able to spend in our lifetime" and I took that as a challenge =)2

We call this the "might as wells" in our household. "Well, we're painting the entry, so we might as well paint the laundry room. Oh, now the living room looks cruddy, so while the painter's here, we might as well do that, too. Oh. Now the dining room looks tired. We might as well do that room, too." And it goes on ad nauseum.

Beautiful carpet/rug!

DH is on his way home from a trip. I decided to get our cars detailed while he was gone. He's had his new Subaru for one month and the interior looks like a trash can. Sunscreen smeared all over the doors, seats, steering wheel. Globs of mud sticking to stuff and as usual he was a 4 season wardrobe of clothes piled in the back seat along with magazines and 3 large plastic bags full of empty plastic bags and that's not the worst of it. I don't ask questions about the stuff in there. I wished I had a haz mat suit on when I was taking all of that crap out. Went to Home Depot and bought some storage bins for the stuff he had crammed into the door panel pockets and on and under the seats. He'll probably be irritated by that and tell me he had everything organized like the 10 soap bar remnants separately wrapped in toilet paper or kleenex, the shovel, 5 opened breath mint rolls and 3 opened tubes of sun screen

Has he been living in his car???

Has he been living in his car???

It looks like it. He takes the Subaru everywhere when he hikes and skis unless he needs higher clearance then the takes the Jeep. Most of the stuff in there is to get him through a day or two if he gets stranded somewhere which doesn't account for the plastic bags full of plastic bags. I'm sure he has a reason for those but I'm not gonna ask because I'm afraid to know.

He won't let me buy him seat covers so he uses towels. The beach towel on the back seat is 30+ years old and full of holes so I bought him a new one. He just doesn't care about that kind of stuff. I begged him when he bought the new car to not turn it into a garbage dump and I think he tried for a week. He's just going to have to accept that if he doesn't take care of the car, I'll be spending his hard earned money to do it for him especially because he wants me to ride with him we're out and about around town because it's a hybrid and I don't want to sit in a car that is dirty and smells like the inside of a skunk's anus.

Am I married to your DH?

While there is no smell, he hoards in his vehicle. I'm like WTF. I SAY THAT! Then he can't find his "stuff". Another WTF! Our new SUV seems like it is already overtaken by shit. Luckily no sunscreen on the seats....cuz it's been wiped off and absorbed on costly athletic wear. WHEW!

All good. I have an estate Tiffany diamond ring in my shopping cart.....

So funny! I am so anal about my house and car. It amazes me how some people aren’t and I sometimes secretly wish I could live in their realm for a few days. Yanno - just to see what it FEELS like!

No, no you don't. You'll feel icky and want to get steam cleaned inside and out after a long soak in bleach. Please trust me on this. You can always come to my house and sit in his car or his bathroom for a few minutes, that'll cure your curiosity.

I suppose - I also wonder what it feels like to not care - must be so freeing!! Lol!

LOL. Looking unlikely as it is a small size and I am doubtful it can be resized to my needs. Such a great deal tho!!!

Surely it is possible - can you ask Tiffany?

I am at Macdonald s having breakfast

It is two blocks from the hospital
Gary was ment to be coming home today but he rang me at 7 that he had a fall
He is ok he didn't hurt his head
I hope they give him descent pain killer
He has lost so much weight they are giving him protein milk drinks to take home and he is allowed ice cream in it
So I'm buying him a wrap . I don't think the nurses will complain about that

I'm thinking about an orange sofa :eek2:, yanno, to go with the new rug.
