I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

HI:

CAT GUYin the BMW behind me: had two feline friends with him (not crated). I dunno where he was taking them, but I could see him chatting them up (rear view mirror), then he was scratching a chin.....and the furballs were looking out the window, getting some kitty TV!

Don't think I've ever seen that before.... =)

cheers--Sharon

Ah! How sweet!

So the wayward daughter returns after a year away from home. What did I miss? :wavey:

Proud mama here, my daughter was asked to speak at her college graduation, she is very nervous... the most she has ever spoken for was a group of about 500 at a friends funeral and she speaks for school and church all the time but this will be for a few thousand we think. yikes! She has a little over a month to get ready and you know what she does first instead of starting her speech? Makes a hair appt for that day.....

Haven, where is that video??!!

Hi Adi! How are you?

So happy to have signed my contract yesterday. No RiF this year, which is awesome news. Next year, however, will be a nail-biter.

Hi Adi! How are you?

Hey Zoe! Doing great, thanks. Moved into a new home and started a new job, so real life has kept me away from PS for a while. I've missed you all! 8)

How's teaching?

Adi, wow, lots of new things going on for you. Congratulations! Teaching's going well. We have a vacation week coming up at the end of April, and I'm excited to have a little down time before the big push to the end of the year.

how come no April Fool thread this yr?

Thank you Amys bling, it is very exciting!

Haha, yeah, it's been a helluva year.
Oh, a vacation sounds so wonderful right now. Hope you have a great time!

So i don't think this really warrants a thread of it's own but i would like some opinions!

I stumbled across a pair of jackets in a jeweler in Perth. I wasnt in the market or anything (esp from a B&M in Perth) but they caught my eye. They are 30 diamonds for a total of 40 points, so they are about 1.3 pointers each. G/H colour VS Clarity (looked under the microscope) in 18k WG. They are $950 and will be returned to the wholesaler after easter if i don't purchase them. They were brought in, along with 3 other pairs by a customer who requested some, she bought a pair and these have been sitting there waiting to be picked up.

If i don't get these now I will more than likely wait a few months before buying online somewhere. So far BGD's quote was $10 cheaper for slightly higher ct and i'm still waiting to hear from WF and ID. I've got until easter Tuesday to decide if i want to buy these outright or put them on layby for 3 months. Part of the attraction is the instant gratification...

I thought i wanted at least 1.5 pointers, 2 or maybe ever 3 pointers but these are looking pretty big already.

For reference my studs are 5.5mm .62 and .63ct in 3 prong setting.

I'll try and post a couple of pics that i took today when i went to visit them again :D

Opinions are most welcome. :wavey:

ok, trying for the pics...

HOT -- Those look pretty! I can see why you are thinking about purchasing them.

Do you think you'll be happy with the size in 6 months or will you be wishing for something a bit larger? Will you be happy with color/clarity or will you begin to notice "flaws"? Do you trust that the B&M will stand behind them or do you have someone you do trust to take care of any needed repairs?

Any chance they'd let you wear them for a couple of days and see how you feel about them?

Hmm I personally don't think
You need to go bigger- but does buying from one of the OS vendors allow you a good upgrade policy? If do I'd go with them that way you have the option of upgrading in the future if you wanted.

HI:

To the two people who ran red lights today--WOTEVER! :?

IKEA confused me since I couldn't find the exit, kinda like being in a casino--except I was surrounded by items that sounded like blork....first and last time......

Pier 1 experience was awesome; got a gorgeous (mosiac) plant stand!

cheers--Sharon

so true! i always get lost and annoyed in there!

Thanks Too Patient and Amy!

I do want them but the ID quote came back at $650 for 2 pointers totalling .52ct, It's kind of taken the shine off of these ones a bit.

.... but the posibility of instant bling gratification is very appealing... First world problems i tell you. :D

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped me with my (shall remain nameless) thread earlier today. :wavey:

You guys are really helpful and I can't express my appreciation with words in a way that adequately reflects my feelings. I will check out all the tips, websites, and info. I've learned a lot. I love to learn. Thank you. :)

I feel a little more confident in moving forward.

I wish we could discuss such things. The less barriers (of the unknown and unexplained) between people, the better off we'll all be.

But I understand the rules, I think sometimes people can get carried away, and then offensive things get said and feelings get hurt. And I certainly don't want that! :nono:

I was shocked when I saw the thread was closed. And upset to be honest. It is ludicrous that we cannot discuss certain issues in a simply educational manner. No one was arguing and it was quite civil. I think it is time to discuss changing certain rules that serve absolutely no purpose. If there are people (who shall remain nameless but I think I know who it was) who don't like a certain thread then please let them stay out of it. They do not need to open it and read it.

iLander, I am sorry that we cannot continue sharing the experience with you as there was so much more I (and I am sure others)wanted to say. :( I was out the whole afternoon getting ready for the Passover Seder and could not return to that thread until it was too late.
I totally agree with you. The more we can discuss openly matters of religion the better off we all are as it is ignorance and fear of the unknown that causes most of the problems in this world IMO.

I wish you the very best in your journey and in the future if you ever want to continue a discussion off board I am open to that.

That seems like a great price - I think Cellantini got hers from IDJ. Yeah - no instant gratification, but a financial savings.... what is worth more to you??? The jackets on her studs looked AMAZING!!!!

Yeah I like a good deal so I'm passing on the instant gratification for now. I've worked with ID a couple of times and I've seen some beautiful pieces in person so there's no questioning the quality in my mind. :)

iLander -- Just found your discussion. I've been through that myself. If you'd like more information on what I went through, I'd be happy to share offline.
