Ok, photoshop elements it is! I''ll be back as soon as I get it and get the hang of it, with some pics for critique, if that''s ok.
MP, I would love to see your butterflies.

I shot this today with my 70-300mm Sigma, which has a super small focal span. I still got a couple good ones. Pretty butterflies, strm!

Great pictures...I love this (second) butterfly one!

Thanks Dana! I wish I could post the full size images - they really look better bigger.

Nice butterflies!!! :}

Quick and gentle CC a lot of the people shots so far and the butterfly shots would be better following the rule of thirds or a variation there of.
Animals should almost always be placed so they fly/move/look into the scene rather than away ie: more space in front than the back. Except when they are perched like the
first picture in the totorial where the front if not empty space.

Here is a quick tutorial on the subject:

Here is an example the butterfly looks like it is getting ready to leap into the open space.
Some room above it would have made the illusion even better.

The rule of thirds is not always the answer but it often is.
It really needs to be mastered so you can look at a scene before you shoot it and say no it isn''t right. Then you can ignore it.

Here is an example the mind sees the butterfly rocketing up and away when viewing the image.
It opens the imagination of the viewer and traps them in the picture.
