Hello all, I got that pretty blue hexagon zircon from Yvonne! I picked it up from her today and she was very nice. I got to see her other stones and I so despo want them. This is the only decent photo I have so far. I can't find the charger for my lumix and my bf's old lumix doesn't take good quality pics. I didn't use a phone because I thought the camera was taking good pics. So I will try again tomorrow. I've been busy with moving, it's been getting dark early and I get home late so photo taking has been a nightmare and that's why I haven't posted up new pics of my peachy sapphire. I hope to get some up tomorrow.

I know what you're going to ask- how will I set it. Like my other stones, no plans yet. Just saving money for moving and getting more shiny things :)

So glad that you got that pretty zircon from Yvonne! When you're ready to set the stone, I recommend letting her set it in one of her hexagon settings or have her design a custom ring,

My personal choice would be to set it in her tourbillion ring setting. It'll look even more gorgeous against some contrasting stones, say green emeralds in the setting.

Congrats!

Congrats @Shijitake so glad you got that gem. I love the hex cut.

Glad you got a peek at some her other gems. The more you see, the more you learn.

Here's my collection. Not very impressive here in PS. I took surprisingly bad pics for an SLR and had to delete many of them and these are the best ones. In it are the zircon, opal (only $5!), GF peachy pink sapphire, rosy sapphire, paraiba, mexican opal. In the other box is the rubies, pad, emerald, purple sapphire and a blue sapphire I got for free. There's extra pics of the GF saph. It's much prettier and doesn't behave for photos but somehow the best pictures of it are in cases. The lighting is so bad in the room I'm in, so I'm going to try again sometime in my other room.

The fact that you can say rubies next to pad, means your collection is not very humble! I'm surprised you can keep collecting without setting something. I'm stopping all my collecting at this point to set my gems.

That's a gorgeous collection @Shijitake

Love love love your pad and emerald especially!!!!! You did good!!!! Especially with the pad which is so hard to find and hard to find something that doesn't look butchered cut wise.

Would you ever add a jade cab to the collection?

Surprisingly enough despite being an avid setter (I only have 3 unset stones) I can actually understand you wanting to have a collection to admire.

I operate on the opposite end of the scale and basically run off a week after to set things.

@voce not humble, but not impressive as other PSers. most of the ones. The first box with the emeralds are all badly cut stones, save the emerald cut ruby, and that one doesn't glow and needs good lighting (nice pure red color though). I still don't have an ideal blue sapphire, black opal, jade, a larger paraiba, etc. When I have those, I'll consider it impressive, lol. It's easy for me to not set bc I'm cheap and penny pinch, lol. The bills also force me to keep budget. Honestly, it's easier and more convenient for me to admire them in cases because I will never remember to put on jewelry so if they were set Id never see them outside their jewelry box.

@mellowyellowgirl Thank you! My collection pales in comparison to yours though. I love your rings. I would LOVE a jade cab! That ones in my future to buy list.

@Stone Hunter Thank you!

@Sungura Thank you, yes that is from Gemfix.

I went to town with photos and deleted maybe half of them, I'm uploading a bunch since each have better angles for different stones. The first box with the emerald is what i call the "emo group" since they are either dark or difficult to photograph. The peachy GF saph is also difficult to photograph. Maybe I should switch it with the emerald. Strangely enough I found it easier to capture its color when it's in its case, but not to the intensity of how pretty it really is. I also took pics of my other opals.

Nice collection. I also found the colour of the stones are most accurate when they are photographed in the gem box.
