I pulled the trigger on this diamond:

http://www.exceldiamonds.com/Loose_Emerald_Cut_Diamond-166/Loose_Emerald_Cut_0.84_Carat_E_Color_IF_Clarity_diamond-323806.html

But now I need to find a engagement setting for it, I was thinking of getting this in palladium:

I did some more looking around and then I found the same ring for about 200$ less from Sun Jewelry in platinum! Honestly I have some misgivings about the palladium and Sun Jewelers. What to do?
Can any of you suggest a reputable and cost effective source for engagement settings, since I broke the bank on the stone?

Thanks

This one's in 18k white gold. Same style and color/clarty and weight. http://www.idjewelryonline.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_28&products_id=2045&cType=ER

I've never purchased from them but there was a recent thread from someone who has and they were happy.

eta: idjewelry has the same setting that i linked with different size stones that are even cheaper. Go to their web page and hit settings. You'll get a good idea.

I just wanted to throw a few things out there to think about...

I have this setting with a pear shaped diamond (my stone was preset). Its pretty but the baugettes dont give
off any bling. Plus its pretty hard to find any wedding bands to go with it except for the standard 2/3 stone
baguette ring. If you GF/FI isnt into bling then you are probably good but if she wants a little more sparkle
you might want to try some other setting. Have you looked at some of the PSers emeralds? If not, you
can do a search on them and maybe find some other ideas.

Just thought I''d throw that out there.
