that thing stopped my heart when i tried it on...i LOVE that as a 3 stone setting.

This is so exciting!!

Mara - I looked at so many three stone settings they were all starting to blur together. I knew I wanted the setting to kind of fade into the background and for the ring to be all about the stones and not about the setting. So, all of the x and u and w and royal crown prongs were just way too much metal for me. But I still liked the idea of the prongs doing a graceful curve or crossing, but not so that they covered up the stones. I like this setting especially because there is no basket. There's nothing obstructing a full view of the stones from the side, almost like a tension setting.

Cehra - I always wondred what that schmutz was. I usually see it red though. I've never seen it black. Is it adhesive of some kind?
ETA: Oh I see, you're talking about the little peg that holds the ring up. It takes me a while, but I catch on eventually...

Thanks again for all of your sweet comments. Yes I am really excited, but trying not to be too much of a nut about it.

Kay - yes, I borrowed liberally from elements of the A. Jaffe three stone trellis here http://www.ajaffe.com/ (go to engagement rings, classic collection) but I wanted mine less squared off and more rounded, also Mark Morrell's three-prong solitaire (sans basket) seen here http://www.mwmjewelry.com/Daiva-comp-1b.jpg for the side stones, Griffitk's ring, MelissaSue's ring and Noobie's ring, along with a couple of others that I can't even remember now.

Looking at all of them helped me figure out what I wanted. I am completely remiss in not thanking them for posting their beautiful rings which enabled me to put together the custom ring of my dreams!. So, please allow me to correct my transgression by saying "thank you" to each of them now!

You know... I just wanted to say that every time I look at your ring, I like it more. I love its simplicity and elegance. If I were going for a three stone ring, I might ask to copy you LOL! It''s truly a beautiful design.

I love that ring. It reminds me of the flow of a Mark Morrell. What I love the most is the single prong holding in the diamond sidestones on the end. That is the best!!!!!
