I picked up my new ring yesterday from Robbins Delaware Diamonds.

It is so beautiful. I was really scared about the H color and I think I am happy with it. I occasionally think I see color but I mostly see white so I think it might be in my head. The clarity is outstanding and I can''t AT ALL see the two tiny inclusions with my eyes.

For some reason the HCA score of 2.1 is still bothering me. I keep thinking if it only had a lower score or the pavillion and crown angles (or depth %)were a little less I would get a better score. I keep worrying that although my diamond is geourgous, am I missing out on something even more AMAZING? Am I crazy and irrational? This stone is beautiful though, so I think its just because I am a perfectionist. This stone scored great on almost everything and is WAY better than any of the other stones I found in my area!

This ring has a lot of fire and really flashes and dances. It''s really beautiful! Why do I beat myself up and keep worrying if I got the best diamond I could. I guess I just feel that I won''t ever get a chance to get another one this big and that it better be good enough to last a lifetime. Especially since it''s my wedding ring.

I have learned so much and enjoyed shopping for diamonds. I enjoy looking at it even more, so I think I am going to try to buy smaller 1/4 & 1/2 ct diamonds to make more jewelery in the future. I have the bug!!

Hi Melanie C,
Congratulations on your new ring! When BF purchased my ring, I was in the same boat as you because even though my eyes told me that the diamond was absolutely beautiful, it only scored a 2.4 on the HCA.

After about a week of thinking about it, I decided that the numbers didn't really matter. What mattered was that I really loved the diamond. BF purchased the ring in January, and just a couple of weeks ago he gave me a sneak preview (but hasn't proposed yet

). I was worried that I would see imperfections or it wouldn't sparkle, but the exact opposite was true. It was beautiful, sparkled like mad, and I loved it even more than when we picked it out at the jewelry store.

My advice to you is to relax and enjoy your ring for what it is. I've gotten the diamond bug too (contaigious, isn't it?), and hope to experience the thrill of purchasing many diamonds during my lifetime. Each diamond will have its own personality, and we should enjoy each one for what it is, not what it "should" be. (Keep in mind that we both still have diamonds that fall within AGS0 proportions - I'm not saying frozen spit has its place with me, though it might with someone else!)

Please post pics when you have the chance, and congratulations!!

Congrats on the purchase, MC. If you're worried about how your stone sparkles compared to a H&A round, then you can do what my fiancee did: go into a jewelry that sells hearts and arrows diamonds (we went here, which carried the Hearts on Fire diamonds) and compare your stone to their's. Only then can you be reassured, as my fiancee was (she was quite happy as her diamonds outshined/outfired the HOF's), and rest in peace that you have a good purchase.

But judging from your stone's excellent ISee2 scores, I would be less worried about its performance.
