So I went ahead and bought the rock I was looking at. Check the thread in the link above to get the whole story...

I was concerned initially (as were others on this forum) with the girdle dimensions and the fact that I didnt know the pavillion angle (forgot to copy it down the first time I visited the jeweler)...
But I went back today to take another look. The girdle is actually very thin - thick (which I know isn''t ideal), but looking at it under the loupe, it was mostly on the medium side, as only small parts of it were either very thin or "thick."

Also, its an "SI1," but I''d venture to say it was a VS2. I really can''t spot much under the loupe and its totally eye clean. I''ll try to get some pictures up later tonite or tomorrow, but needless to say, I am ECSTATIC about this. Great rock and great price ($3800). I hope my soon to be fiancee will feel the same.

I guess the only other thing that might be slightly off is the crown height?

What are everyone''s thoughts? And please, you can be honest.
Thanks! Appreciate it immensely. I''m hoping all the reading and research has paid off.

Hmmm..
No feedback? That can mean either no one cares or I did really bad.

Will try to get some pics posted soon...

awesome; she will love it!!!!

Sounds good. Can''t wait to see it. Are you planning on a simple setting or something unique?

Congrats, Propose guy. Always good to work with a local establishment, when it makes to, I say.

Best of wishes with this!

CONGRATS! Can''t wait to see pictures!

Well done. I am sure the lower crown height has to do with the table being larger, one of the jeweller people may be able to confirm this.

Congratulations, hope to see pictures when you can post them.
