I was a bad girl.

In case you missed it, I sold my first OEC to my mom's (now) fiance a few weeks ago! He was kind enough to offer me a "finders fee" on top of my original cost. I took those finds and bought a larger OEC on ebay yesterday. It is 6.2mm, supposedly a carat but I suspect actually just under, looks fairly colorless and well cut to boot! Can't wait for it to arrive

Yay!!!!!! :appl: Any pics???? We need some visuals on this thread!!!

I can't wait to see pictures!!!

I'm so glad you found another OEC and a bit bigger to boot! Can't wait for pics!!

yay!! happy for you and your mom both! can't wait to see pictures.

Ooh you are very good at this!! Can't wait to see pictures :sun:

That is brilliant!! Can't wait for pics!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Nice, cannot wait to see pics!

I followed your story with the old OEC (how sweet of you to sell that to your mom's fiance!). Can't wait to see the new one. They're so dreamy.

:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: Can't wait to see pics...I'm sure it will be gorgeous!

That's awesome! Can't wait to see pics! :appl:

Here is a vendor hand shot showing the nice edge-to-edge brightness and also its fairly white color. We'll see if in-person matches these impressions when it arrives on Wednesday ;)) There were other shots too, showing the high crown and small table and suggestions of a nice facet pattern. Also appraisals indicating the measurements and the color/clarity.

Some tips for ebay deald: It was listed simply as an "Antique engagement ring" so not really something people would find if searching the usual terms for old cuts. I trolled many many hundreds of listings to stumble on this one. It was being offered by someone who did not usually sell diamond rings (a family ring). Was at Auction for more than I wanted to pay (but a fair bit less than others of similar specs) with no retuns allowed, so I contacted the vendor and asked if she was willing to consider offers below her starting point and was willing to offer a return period. She said not at this time. I told her to get in touch with me if she changed her mind. When the auction ended she contacted me, and agreed on a price $300 below the start point on her auction and a seven day inspection period. She posted a "Buy it Now" listing and I bought it. Good tips I learned from ForteKitty, the most ridiculously successful ebayer I have ever encountered ::) .

(whoops, photos on other computer, back in a second)

A couple shots. I am looking forward to comparing it to my mom's OEC!

Looks great!!

Very pretty!

What a gorgeous stone! Do you plan to reset it? Sorry if you mentioned that and I just missed it.

How exciting!! I have fingers crossed for a happy ending for this one  can't wait to see what you think (and lots more pics!)

Re. ebayers... there are a few PSers who could start side-businesses and charge commissions for their finds... you're definitely turning into one! Pending final analysis of this lil' guy ;))

Very cool, and I love those eggplant fingernails!

Good ebay tips! Thanks for sharing .... (Fortekitty too). Look forward to seeing more pix of the stone & congrats!

Dreamer, it looks gorgeous. Can't wait for hand shots!

Very pretty!

I should mention those cool eggplant nails are not mine but belong to the wonderful seller.

How do I know she is a wonderful seller? Because she is great at responding to e-mails.

How do I know that? Because I have had occassion to send her quite a few in the last couple days.

Why? Because our package has disappeared into the ether. The package was dropped with USPS on Saturday to be sent via Global Express Guaranteed, which actually mean USPS gives the package to FedEx for the international delivery. But after being processed by a sort facility in its originating state, it was not given to FedEx and now no one -- USPS or FedEx -- knows where it is.

Fingers crossed it shows up ladies and gents! Neither myself or the seller want to deal with the annoyance of making a postal claim.

Oh no!!

Lots of dust that it turns up!

(and thanks for the ebay tips). :))

Oh no - I hope it turns up soon!! What a PITA ;(

...Where on earth did you find that? Awesome, but completely bizarrely so!

Oh goodness, Dreamer! I feel like it will turn up, but I'd give it another week before the volume of holiday packages being sent tapers off.

I hope you are right! I am not worried because I am covered if it does not show up, but would rather get it than not. So much for guaranteed delivery  If it shows, I should get the cost of shipping refunded at least.

They found my package!

For some reason it was sent back to the postal office from which it was sent. They are looking into why that happened, but fingers crossed it goes out tonight and I get it before Christmas.
