Thanks everyone!!!!! I've never seen a diamond sparkle so much - I weeded out the ENTIRE virtual database from 2.6ct to 4cts/D-G based on cut/HCA score! In fact, when I first got it, I was wondering if it was a little TOO sparkly - like it was a fake? I had never seen a diamond like this before! Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: Medium Blue
SandyCheeks - I got it at ID Jewelry, and Yekutiel even mentioned your ring! I had to laugh because I had been admiring your 3ct N a week or two on Pricescope before I went to pick out diamonds!
ID Jewelry was an absolute pleasure to work with. I was not planning to work with them originally, but it turned out that they were the only NY office open at the time (James Allen was appt only, booked) and they matched prices!
I LOVE the blue fluor - I don't really notice it much, but hey, an F is not a D so it can always use a little "help." I've got one iphone photo of it looking pretty blue in the sunlight, I think it's pretty cool. That's why I had been asking so many questions re: jewelers and fluor - I don't get why it's "bad." And it doesn't sound like there's a real reason why it is.
MissGotRocks - Wedding band-wise, I'm thinking a thin diamond band that sits FLUSH with the setting. I know Vatche has some, but the diamonds were channel/bead?-set, which isn't my favorite. .... I think I might go the custom route - I'm thinking a slim band of alternating marquis and round diamonds bezel set (just like the Tiffany Swing bands) that curves to fit the Swan.
It's sooo strange, but the stone's size seems totally average to me now! When I look at other people's stones, they look the same size. I didn't know DSS would strike so soon! I don't mean in the sense that I want bigger, but maybe I have a perception problem!
