I got a preview of my ring last night....

and unfortunately, it was set wrong. I wanted an oval, set in a halo, and although the ring is gorgeous - they set the stone East - West. Isn't that nuts. Why wouldn't they ask? My fiance knew I wanted N-S, which is why he showed me - so he can return asap and have it fixed. Boo hoo.

I didn't want to see my ring when my FI got it at first. However, he had to show me because the stone was set WAY too high and one pave stone was missing. I'm glad he showed me. I'm sure your ring is going to be AMAZING!

No, funny enough I'm not engaged. He thought the ring was wrong (he didn't say set E-W, but he said the opposite of what he expected and he had seen photos of what I like) but didn't know what to do.... so he hinted that he was planning the proposal but because I'm traveling on business to Asia for 14 days (plus our schedules with kids before I leave) he won't be proposing until his return period for the ring is done. He's funny, he said "I've got this friend who bought a special gift and he's kind of worried that it's not exactly right... what should my friend do...". Silly really.

So he basically asked whether he should rush the proposal, thinking the ring might be wrong before I leave on Friday or whether I wanted to peek at it to confirm. Once he said something about it being set wrong... I started to worry - because once he proposes, I want to wear it! So, I said I probably should take a peak because I was worried if it wasn't set N-S... He got it out - and sure enough, set wrong. I guess it'll work out for the best. If he had proposed right before my trip - I'd be conflicted about whether to wear it or keep it home. This way he can get it set correctly while I'm gone, then he'll have time to plan a proposal for when I get home.....

Yes! You want it to be perfect when he proposed to you. You will not want to part with it. I have to get my resize to a 1/4 size bigger. It was painful getting it on/off. I miss my ring so much. It will probably take another week. I feel weird that we're engaged, but I don't get to wear my ring. Hope your ring will be perfect soon!!!

I'm so sorry that your diamond was set wrong, but I'm glad that your FF realized that something was amiss - now it can be fixed, and it will be perfect for you when he proposes.
