I guess I can p-shop your stone into other settings... even though the resolutions are off.

With no metal under the stone, the blue might really shine. This tension setting is on the James Allen site:

Oh wow...i like that tension setting idea.

The stone would totally be the star...

I would love it in a hammered 24K setting.... I actually had a diamond ring like this, set with a colorless diamond, 1/3 the size of your blue. This is AGBF''s spessarite ring (by Gurhan), ''reset'' with your blue.

Straight out of the tomb of a queen!

I like the rose and blue, too... it evokes a vintage feminine glamor.
I agree - it does!!

That tension setting looks so cool!

I love the tension setting. But, I''m afraid it may be too big for my hands...my fingers are long and skinny. I am kind of looking at this setting... in palladium.

THAT last one is gorgeous! If I was looking at rounds it''d be on my list!

Geez kboggs! that last solitaire you posted is a gorgeous design!
Looks quite practical and glamorous at the same time! Could I ask whose design it is?

The more I look around the more I go back to that setting...it''s called Indulgence, and its an Artcarved ring! lol. The matching wedding band is plain, but I just love the setting. Kinda wish there was more flash to the band, though.

What do you all think about a channel set band? This one (Artcarved also) is thin, but...hmmm. Do they come thinner? I want bling not bulk. Does this look right with the ER setting? A pave set would probably look nicer, but I have a strong dislike of pave''s right now due to my current setting (yes, I know the diamonds under the head are pave, but there are only a few, not a whole ring worth). One more question...I''ve never actually seen a setting like this on a hand. Will the WR rub the diamonds on the side of the ER? Oh..decisions. I''m getting a headache.

I think if you got a different pave setting you would be just fine. I had Whiteflash custom make my engagement ring and it is three sided pave. I''ve had absolutely no problems with it (knock on wood!) and I''ve worn it every day for over a year. With pave, you really do get what you pay for in most cases!

If you go with Whiteflash or another reputable brand like Ritani I bet you won''t have any/many problems at all with the pave. As for white gold, some people do have a reaction to it and their skin chemistry yellows it very quickly. You can get platinum or palladium instead.

I just wanted to throw that out there since the pave in white metal seems to be what you really love! Also, shared prong is larger diamonds with prongs in between that both diamonds share. You can do a search here on PS for them or if you go to www.thefacetscollection.com you can see many shared prong eternity rings.

This ring is probably very thin and delicate in real life. That would make a gorgeous set with the solitaire you posted. That solitaire is so pretty, it reminds me of the Swan solitaire from Vatche. Come to think of it, the Vatche Swan comes with pave shoulders. I doubt you would have any problem with Vatche''s pave. But I know that Art Carved is great.

Hmm, I''m torn between the ''practicality'' of channel set and its apparently bulky look.
I can''t make up my mind about it...
But let''s face it, in a wedding band, you do need to at least *consider* practicality, if you plan on wearing every day for the rest of your life...
Do you think shared prong requires much upkeep from year to year?
Gad, who knew a wedding set could be this complicated?!!

anyway, Artcarved, ey? Nice choice!
