My boyfriend and I have been togeather for a year (Jan 1st), and we have been best friends for several years. I am 24 and he is 21 (i know its weird for the girl to be older). We have always been very open with eachother, we have know that we want to get married since last March. But nothing had really been discused about when, or how we are to get married. Untill the other night after work we were talking in the car and suddenly he asks me what kind of ring I want. Well I had no clue I had never gone even looking for rings, Im the kind of girl that enjoys going camping and working on old cars, not going and getting my nails done! None the less just go looking for rings!
So I went out of my comfort zone without him (he lives about 45 min away from me) and went looking just to get ideas. Then out of no where there it was. It was the 1st ring the Jewler showed me after telling him what I was kinnda looking for... I even tried it on, and it fits perfectly!!! I decided that I needed to look at other stores just to be sure that it was what I really wanted.... Nothing captured my eye, not even online all I see is this one perfect ring.
Now here inlies the problem! This ring set costs $5,599... Here in Idaho thats alot of freaking money! I told him about the ring that day, but up untill lastnight I hadn''t told him about the price. I was nervous, I didn''t know how much he was looking to spend on silly little me. I even looked at mens bands and his ring would only cost me about $300, thats easy for me to get no problem... So I told him last night how much this ring costs, and I was pleasently surprised he didn''t flinch, he didnt wince, go pale or anything! He just replied "Well I don''t care what it costs, I want you to be happy, your my world!!! Im glad you found the one you want, and I can''t wait to go buy it... but im nervouse about asking your Dad."
So here I am trying to not scream for joy that I have this amazing man who is willing to marry me, wants to get me the ring of my dreams... But doesn''t know how to talk to my dad about his plan to take his youngest daughter of 6 kids away... "sigh"
Can anyone help with this I don''t know what to tell him... Other than my Dad is a sucker for cute little fuzzy faces that wagg their tails and lick your face...
