I assure you that Jon has seen the best of the best stones, both his own and other vendors so if he tells you it's a beautiful stone, you can trust him. At this point, you've found a beautiful diamond that gives you the best bang for your buck - awesome color, clarity, and carat combination - my advice is to purchase and be done with it at this point. Usually once you see it for yourself, you'll feel alot better because you can confirm the beauty with your eyes.

Thanks so much Roqsteady!
I wouldn't have found this if it wasn't for you!!
I finally see myself coming closer to the end... of a new beginning*
hahaha

I'll def wait until I see it.

Hello again guys.

I have a final decision to make. What are the differences between these diamonds and which one should I choose?
The only thing worrying me about the .9D is that the table % is a little higher than what I want it to be. Is this a problem?
What kind of affects do you get with higher % table?

0.94ct G VS2 Premium Round Ideal Cut Diamond (Bank wire price: $6,575)

-Bigger diamond
-Very high quality non H&A (It basically is)

Have Jon at GOG make you a video with both stones side-by-side.

You can let your eyes decide, and Jon can provide any further insight, should you need it.

Great choices!

If those were the only two stones to pick from I would pick the G, but I don't like that the hearts are cleft.

Look at this .90 ct D VS2 in your price range, I like it better than the ones you're looking at AND it has medium fluor.
Or this .90 ct E VS2 looks nice too.

Hello again SandyinAnaheim,

Can you tell me why you would get the G instead?

I'm going to get a video loop very soon.
I want to try to see the difference myself.

Thanks.

Well, in the AGS report, the D seems to have some light leakage issues. In looking at the pictures, I see some asymmetries, but I wouldn't know how they affect the stone until I saw it myself, it might be imperceptible, or apparent. And I have mind clean issues, so unless it were for earrings, I wouldn't do an SI personally.

I see the light leakage difference for the upside down photo, does that have an impact?

Anyone else care to share their knowledge?
I'd really appreciate it. I have to decide in a couple days.

Thank you so much, everyone.

Sandy, I believe that the two diamonds that you list have HCA scores of 4.9 and 4.0, respectively. If so, they should be rejected.

Both GOG diamonds have Light Performance grades of AGS Ideal 0.
In addition, both diamonds have AGS Cut Grades of 0/0/0.
I don't believe that light performance is an issue for either of them.

GOG "Superior" diamonds have a different warranty from GOG "Premium" diamonds.
Re: color grade both D and G are great, IMO.
I might go with the 0.9 ct D Si1, over the other.
Please depend on more experienced opinions than mine.

Hello OP, I have only noticed your thread now. I somehow like this G stone and I am VERY color sensitive and would likely pick F and above but in this case I like the cut of the G. The D has advantages as well. Nice stone too. Truly depends on subjective factors too. I like the facet pattern of the G but what got me is that it appears much crisper, the D seems a bit more mushy to me. If this is the G stone you were originally talking about that people suggested to you, I would go with it.

I thought I liked the way the D reflected larger lights but after you stated how its "mushy", I kind of see what you mean.
I'm in such a pickle. I should have never checked back on their site for another diamond. So you think I should go back to my original plan? anything else you might want to add?
Thanks thanks.

You're right, they both score atrociously on the HCA. That'll teach me not to recommend anything before investing the time to look at them closer. Sorry Jamhenkim, I was on my way to work and recognized you, and responded without due diligence.

I still don't like the D, 59.8% table percentage is bigger than I prefer. After seeing the video, I still prefer the G, and it scores a 1.1 on the HCA! :wink2:

Interesting that you're talking to Jonathan. I called about 5-6 weeks ago because I wanted to discuss buying a pair of AVRs for earrings and I couldn't get past his minions. I was told, very nicely of course, that he isn't taking calls from clients anymore.

Sandy, here's a tip for you to prevent you losing posts! I know it's so frustrating if you are the deadlock victim when another poster ' fires' at the same time, but this prevents a lot of frustration! Either hit ' save' at the bottom of the reply box before you hit submit or copy your post with the mouse, then if you are deadlocked, you can reopen the reply box, paste, submit. I hope this helps!

Hi Jamhenkim and welcome!

I do understand how you are feeling, I have seen it hundreds of times but fear not, we will walk you through it in the easiest way possible, you are not alone and we will help you find your stone in the easiest way possible!

Both stones are absolutely beautiful, I was more drawn to the G personally but either could be a fantastic choice, I don't think you can go wrong here, you have two superb contenders.

I have images if him sitting in a big chair in an office while lots of tiny, bright yellow minions run around excitedly, like in the film!

This was way back when I first posted on this thread.
I told the person who picked up the phone that I was told to talk to Jonathan.
They tried to steer me away but I insisted I talk to him.
He was busy but eventually got back to me.

Maybe it'll be easier if you told them that you wouldn't buy unless you talked to him??

I am so glad and that's why we are here! I wish I could double quote too, since we had the new format I am not sure how to do it but I will have to try to find out.

As much as I'm a fan of colorless stones, I would have picked the G, as well. I found the cut to be more pleasing to my eye (subjective).

Great choice and I know you'll be pleased with the outcome!

This is a top photo of my diamond.
Irene at GOG took it for me. Wonderful lady.

The diamond is not mounted yet so it looks a bit small.
It's just placed into a setting that's a bit thick.
