Hugs only with my Dad. I kiss my dog on his ''cheek'', but lol, he does try to kiss me on the lips, little devil.

I used to almost hyperventilate before we would get to his house when I was a kid.

Oh dear...I guess I'm in the minority! My family doesn't kiss on the lips all the time, but we definitely do a fairly large percentage of the time. It's not anything sexual or weird, just a show of affection. My family is super crazy affectionate though.

ETA: SDL, glad I'm not the only one! I was starting to feel like the odd one out!

I did. And if I had parents still alive, I would. My sister''s and I kiss on the lips or the cheek, always hug and we hold hands. We''re affectionate and touchy.. Its not a sexual thing. Its the way our family always was. The last kiss I gave to my Dad the hour that he died, I did. Mine was the last kiss he got from anyone.

aww...this made me tear up.. it''s very sweet..

i''m more of a hugger..but my family is not very affectionate.

We kiss on both cheeks but never on the lips. I do kiss my little girls on the lips now but they''re still really young so I''m sure once they get older, it will stop!

I kiss my family (parents/bro/grandparents/aunts etc) and FI's parents on the lips (sometimes my dog too, when she's clean!

).

Everyone else, on the cheek.

That's the way FI and I were both raised, so it's not odd to us--but we a products of very, very, affectionate families.

My family sometimes does the kiss the air near the cheek thing. They''re total germ-o-phobes, and would rather not get anywhere near anyone who might have a molecule of bacteria in their nose or mouth. But they''re also somewhat proper, and wouldn''t just avoid a contact greeting completely. They just run for the Listerine afterward.

I''m not a germ-o-phobe except when it comes to the mouth. I won''t share a drinking glass or water bottle with anyone except my DH and kids. Once I was at one of those makeup "parties," and the host tried to get me to test her personal lip gloss by the same company. She said that she usually switches glosses only after she gets a cold sore. . .and there she was trying to get me to use the gloss. Flat out GROSS!

Never! That''s just weird. However I see it ALL the time. My fiance''s family kisses my future nephew on the lips all the time and it''s just strange. In my family the lips are reserved for romantic interests only.

My family is pretty goofy, so with us, affection is more along the lines of getting a wedgie! I kiss my DH on the lips, and I have one very close male friend who is kind of notorious for giving a quick peck as a greeting. My DH wasn''t too crazy about that the first time he saw him do it, but then my friend got my husband, too, so he decided he didn''t mind my friend greeting me this way as long as he''d quit greeting HIM that way, ha!
