I kiss my boyfriend, I kiss my dog, I kiss my parents, I kiss my grandmother, and a few girlfriends...

We''re Russian, so it''s one cheek, the other cheek, and back to the first cheek again. Lip-kissing seems like more of a couple-y activity to me ....

No no nooooooooooo

we barely hug.

My parents are not physically affectionate people. I''m pushing myself to be more so, especially with my husband and close friends. I''m a big hugger, but don''t really touch other people more than that.

No way! I only kiss my DH on the lips. Once my uncle kissed me on the lips. . .I''m not sure if it was by accident, but it totally grossed me out especially since later that same night, he tried to do it again! It was a peck. I know my grandma kisses most on the lips, so possibly he learned that behavior from her? If any relative tried to kiss me, I''d for sure do the duck-and-cover move.

Anyway. . .no pets on the lips either. You never know where those lips have been.

Cheeks! Sometimes what Circe just described.

We kiss on the cheek and hug. No kissing on the lips.

Kissing my parents on the lips? Ewwwwwww. No

Lots of cheek kisses though.

I kiss the dog on the face, but no french kissing (though he always tries)

I was with a friend a few years ago and we stopped by her grandmother''s house. They kissed on the lips when we left and it totally skeeved me out.

My family is the big ole hugging kind of family and I''m a very huggy person. No kissies beyond DH unless it''s to/from my 15 month and 9 month old nieces. I make an exception for them. My grandfather accidently kissed me on the mouth last weekend and it completely freaked me out.

Same here. Lots of kisses on the cheeks and lots of hugs. I am a hugging person.

I read that dog owners can get worms from their dog(s) if the dog has them and kisses the owner on the mouth after cleaning their backside!

Big ditto.

I kiss my mom, I hug my mom, I say I love you to my mom A LOT. I''ve always been really affectionate with my family though, I can go bug her and get a hug a it''s okay. I don''t do it as much when BF is around though since I can just bug him.
I hug my dad when I see him, I think we might kiss on the cheek...I can''t remember.

BF''s family is the complete opposite. He hugs his mom maybe 3-5 times a year, no kisses. He never hugs his dad. The only time he says I love you to his mom is when they''re on the phone. It''s so different.

Dog only!!!!

+2, Thritto, etc etc etc
My dad gives hugs, my mom doesn''t. She blames it on being Eastern European. I dunno, sometimes I wish I''d grown up in a more affectionate household. I feel like when friends and co-workers get touchy-feelie, I tend to flinch a little. I wish I didn''t.

Cheek only! Lips? Ew, no thanks.

FI''s family is a lot more affectionate than mine however. His older sister kisses her parents on the side of the mouth. FMIL and her mom do the same. So it''s not dead on, but it still irks me a little to see it. Maybe I have issues.

Ditto.

haha we do and I kiss my extended family too. It''s just something we''ve always done. My FI was really confused at first because his family is barely affectionate!

Only my hubby! I don''t kiss my parents at all. A hug is about all they''ll get

My family is SUPER affectionate and we hug and cheek-kiss all the time, but neeeeeever ever do we kiss on the lips!

It kinda grosses me out! But I can see how it might have evolved for some people, and I don''t mean to make those people feel bad.

NO! Hahaha...and I always think it''s weird when families do kiss on the lips! Sometimes we kiss on the cheek but even that''s rare-we''re more huggy for sure.

My family is hugely affectionate, but we''re, at most, cheek kisses.

I don''t recall EVER kissing my parents, sibs, or any other family member. However, due to the lack of affection I had while growing up, I wanted to make sure my son got loads of it. We hug and kiss in front of him all the time. So, when he started kissing, he aimed for the lips. Now that he''s 3, I''m trying to push him off to the cheek but he still goes for the lips. (only with DH and I, though) I assume he''ll grow out of it eventually, but the thought of a grown child kissing either parent on the lips is just weird to me.

I did not vote because I did not see the "cheek only" option for both parents.

Kiss my parents on the lips?? Nope never. I will give them a hug mostly. I will turn my cheek when they go to kiss me.

I kiss my friends on the cheek, love to give a big hug. But we are all very affectionate.

I have never and will never EVER kiss my parents on the lips! We don''t even hug or kiss on cheeks. I don''t kiss my friends either (except when I''m drunk)

Cheeks, yes. Hugs, yes. Lips? Noooooooooo, only DH, thank you!!!!

No parental lip kissing here. We''re huggers and occasional cheek kissers.

Yuck No! Sadly DH''s family are lip kissers and it freaks me out. When the in-laws lived back east I put up with it for the week or so they were here (sometimes claiming I have a cold so let''s just hug). Now that they live here I just make every effort to just hug.
