Will a beautifully cut ascher stone that is VVS1, 1.26 carets and "I" color look fine in a plaintum setting? I recently purchased the stone, but from reading on this message board, I am starting to feel less comfortable with my purchase. It cost $7,000 for the stone and its band. I haven''t seen it in its setting yet, so I was wondering if people have any expertise in seeing this color on an ascher cut. Thanks

It all depends on your colour sensitivity. Some will see the warmth of an I, others will see it as very white. There is also the factor of whether it is a high I (more towards H) or a low I (more towards J). Plus, being a step cut, it could well show its body colour more easily. However, I think an I in platinum will look beautiful. I own 2 Js in platinum and have seen some lovely Ks here on PS set in platinum.
