Here is the stone I purchased. It is an ebay stone, but from a seller I have purchased many stones from and came out perfect. It was a little on the higher priced side for my stones, so this demantoid better sparkle like you guys say they do LOL! I LOVE my paridots, and this has some of the same color as them, so I am sure I will like the color. The picture also doesnt look like it was over bright lighting either.

It is .69cts, and the seller says it has a horse tail inclusion. I dont see it in the pic but I will let you know when I loupe it.

I will post pics of the stone itself as soon as I get it and RI it!

Congratulations, TropicGal--looking forward to your pictures when you get it!

Ohhhhh, horsetail. That''s my favorite thing about my larger demantoid. Can''t wait until you get it!

I am excited to get it!

Glad you found one you like, I like the shape and hope it''s a really sparkly one.

Tropicgal,
Congratulations on your first demantoid, and please remember if you set it, please get a jeweler that specializes in setting soft stones.

That''s awesome that it has the horsetail inclusions. I also second TL in making 100% sure the jeweller knows how to handle softer stones. I''d be heartbroken if such a stone gets damaged during the setting process.

Ohhhhhh, trust me. I will take this baby to a specialist to get set. I would cry if it was damaged. I do want to set this stone though! I love wearing sparkles!! I am also thinking of maybe a bezel type setting (I am not sure what it is called, it looks like they wrap the gold around the stone so it is the shape of the stone, and looks like a bezel) to protect it. I am not the most graceful person with 2 kids under 8, so I would want it to be safe.

I wrote the seller about the horsetail, and he said it is visable w/o magnification but he couldnt catch it in the picture right. Maybe I will beable to catch a picture of it.
This is another x mas present from hubby, so I wont get to ''play'' with it till after x mas but I will deff sneak some pictures of it to post when I get it in the mail before he snatches it and puts it under the tree.

*giggle*

Bezeling, or rather, collet set (just around the girdle) might be riskier. They hammer the metal around the stone. Prong set will be easier for the jeweller.

hammering sounds scary! I will figure something out I am sure. I have time to set it.

I would not bezel it, like Chrono said, it''s riskier.

Very nice looking. I like the color. Please post photos when you get it! and TFS.
