Hello all...I am in the process of picking out an upgrade for my E-Ring. I haven''t bought the diamond yet, but it will be anywhere between a 1 and 1.10 carat H&A Round Brilliant. I really really want a halo around the ring, but I want it in a cushion-shaped halo. The delimna I have come across is that my sister-in-law has a halo for an engagment ring, and I don''t want anyone to think that I am "copying" her. Here is the link to her ring:

http://www.kay.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product1|10101|10001|-1|80353915|15051|15051.15057.15107

Now, I am wanting something completely different than that style--I want the halo to be delicate instead of overpowering like hers is (it''s fine for her, just not my style :)). I also do not want any milgrain on my ring, and her ring has a lot. I like clean lines better. So, I am now debating against a HW-like ring (which we all know and love), or a WF Guinevere Setting ring. But, I am worried that if I go with the pave down the shank (HW), people will assume that it looks just like my SIL''s. I am intrigued by the Guinevere, but cannot find any place that carries a ring like that so I could try it on! Any advice, or what you think will honestly look better? My ring size is a 5.5 if that helps...I know that I need to just pick the ring that I like best, and not worry what other people think, but it''s hard when I can''t picture the Guinevere on my own hand! Thanks so much everyone!

I think the Guinevere is GORGEOUS! I don't think anyone will think you are copying as it's quite different from your SIL's. Check out this picture I saved of a Guinevere, it belongs to the poster wenwen1111.

I know, I love that pic of wenwen''s too! I just have noo idea what it will look like on my hand, you know? I might tell my hubby we need an emergency road trip to Houston lol!

Hey! You should get what you love, and if that''s a halo, so be it! You can do much better quality than Kay though...some of the settings that came to mind from your post include:

Leon 1
Leon 2
Leon 3
Whiteflash 1
Verragio 1
Verragio 2
Verragio 3
Verragio 4

Also Tacori has many styles I think you may like, but I can''t link directly to the settings, so you''ll have to browse through them. Verragio and Tacori you should be able to find/try on at a local retailer. Whiteflash is located in Texas (if you are) and Leon Mege is in New York, so you''d have to be there to see/try things.

Thank you for posting all those links audball, I appreciate it! We live in OK, but Houston isn''t too far away, probably a 5 hour drive, so maybe the hubby and I can go check out the Guinevere in person soon if that''s the way I decide to go. I''ve tried on plenty of rings with the pave diamonds down the shank and in the halo, just none with the plain band. I actually tried on a Verragio today that was gorgeous, but I don''t think I particularly like the shared-prong style for the halo, but that''s just me. Thanks again for posting the links--it''s so fun to look at them, but so hard to figure out what they''ll look like on my finger!
