Which one do you like better? The shapes are very different. I prefer the more saturated rectangle, but you may prefer an oval shape.

Well, as a person who purchased the oval sapphire, and returned it because of a size mix-up (I posted it in Somebody's Got To Buy This Stone), I have seen it in person.

It's an amazing stone. It has lovely color and I think you'll be amazed how it goes from a purple to red to hot pink in different lighting. When the light shines on it, it's quite stunning. I have a Gene sapphire very similar in size and didn't want another one.

The LT stone is silky, which means the sparkle is a little subdued.

The inclusions in the oval cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Have you seen a 5 x 7 stone before? Do you know what that size is like? It's fantastic with in a halo ring, but it's a bit small for a pendant.

Thank you every one for your helpful suggestions and comments. I see it as a great learning experience. I will not return the stone to Gene just because there is a cheaper one available and I think it is not good to do so. It is a great pink color even though I still haven't seen it yet. I will pick it up at the post office tomorrow and give more update here.

I am back from the post office. The sapphire is speechless pretty and a must keep. Now I need to think about a special setting for this unique stone.

I tried, but seems like the camera could not even pick 10% of its beauty. So, I gave up. I might need a micro-lens, my lens if 18-220 and most of time it does a good job.

When directly under the sun the color is more purple like my own photo. When inside it looks more like a pinkish ruby as some vendors listed on their website. I barely see the vivid hot pink color as shown in Gene's photo. The stone itself is very sparkling, neither Gene's photo nor mine show how sparkling it is. Overall, it is a very pretty stone and a very good buy. I am satisfied with my choice.
