october2008bride you''re so psychic it''s odd! I''m Chinese American and my FI is Polish (as in off the boat from Europe Polish!!). So I was shocked to see that photo.

I can''t do a pouf veil--my face is ovalish round and I get a pointy chin (a la Reese Witherspoon) when I smile. The poufy short veil would make me look...weird I think.
In any case the great veil debate is over! FI said it won''t be too risque for the church and that it''d look off with the gown anyways! So yay! No more veil worries!

Just gotta think about shoes and jewelery since the gown is more of champagne/ivory cream color. I don''t want to dip dye the shoes since I''m changing into a qi pao for the reception and I heard that white gold or pearls won''t match a champagne/cream colored gown!

Would it be stupid btw (this is for everyone!) to match my wedding colors around my sash? I was thinking navy/royal blue BM dresses with cream flowers (calla lilies?) and silvery/ivory accents. Royal blue linens, sky blue napkins and silver edged tableware?
Definitely not! I''m also doing the BMs in a different shade of blue (a sapphire-ish blue) and matching the colours of the decor around my pale blue dress and the BMs'' colour. What you have in mind sounds lovely!

fantastic - everthing! love the sexy low back, the splash of color with the blue and what an amazing price!

I am personally not into veils. I think it hides a lot. let''s see your pretty face, neck and shoulders! when I tried them on I felt I looked very churchy (I''m not religious so it didn''t feel comfortable). but as you are getting married in a church I guess it could be possible. but I see you already decided to give it a pass which I give a way thumbs up!

ooh, Congrats on your dress! It''s stunning and so so beautiful!!! Plus the price was excellent

What about a veil that hits at your waist/where the blue sash begins? I think it''s a lovely idea to base your wedding colors off your sash. It works out perfectly, as blue is your favorite color!

noelwr I''m not religious and neither is FI (he''s agnostic) but FMIL is VERY strict Catholic. So I''m going to have it in a church because it is 1. more cost effective than a garden wedding as I''d originally wanted and 2. going to smooth things over with her since I''m Buddhist and we''re probably going with a Chinese banquet reception (again cost effective!)

Compromises, compromises, huh?

it''s a gorgeous dress, congrats!!! and it is seriously impressive that you found such a great dress at kleinfeld''s sample sale, I went 3 times and there was nothing! i tried on your dress and unfortunately it was NOT the dress for me, but it''s an amazing dress. amsale is my hands down favorite designer.

congrats again! getting the dress, and at such a great price is the best feeling!!

Thanks! I hope that you get something good soon! I heard there''s a sample sale at Wedding Atelier soon. Maybe you want to hit that and see what you could get?

Did you try on my dress at the Kleinfeld sample sale too? It''s such a cool coincidence if that''s the case!

Truth be told, I''m getting a little worried all of a sudden that I jumped the gun. I keep reading all these articles in bridal magazines saying that brides that buy too early/hastily/under pressure are bound to be unsatisfied with their gowns.

So I''m hoping I won''t be one of those.
