Unsure if it’s heated. I will send it to a Gem lab. It’s valued at over $20k with the current valuation. If it comes back heated that’s ok by me.Beautiful ! Heated or not
Omg love it!!!
Yeah so surface-reaching fractures on a ruby (or any stone for that matter) do not, in and of themselves, indicate treatment. The stone can have them and be completely untreated. However, as I'm sure you know, rubies are not only routinely heated but also sometimes clarity enhanced. In those cases, surface-reaching fractures are filled with an oil or resin to improve the stone's overall appearance. The only way to really know if your stone is treated, is to send it off to a reputable lab. I think it may be worth it since you seem curious and believe the ring to be quite valuable. Good luck either way! It's lovely!!
Thanks very much for your reply. Yes I have found a lab I can send it into. I’ll do that in the next few weeks. I wonder if it’s worth soaking in Vinegar to see if anything happens?
