OMG... the little kitten we decided to keep is just THE most amazing cat... his eyes are finally starting to turn green, but omg... he just melts me, just melts me.

Today he has started a new thing... I always rub his face, his eyes, his nose... well he has always been a very contemplative kitten... lulled into trusting hypnosis or making TONS of eye contact and just looking around at my face, my nose, my cheeks etc. like he was memorizing my face. Well today he started rubbing my face with his paw!! At first I thought he was just being playful, but then I saw he was trying to rub my eyes (no claws) the way I rub his and rub my nose and my cheek. What a lover!! I''m hooked

Oh Cehra, that is the BEST! My 16 yr old kitty does that when she''s lying on my chest--she literally reaches out and caresses my face with her paw! I know what you mean, it is the most endearing thing in the world. Then she gets sick of me after a while and nips at my hand, but that''s just the groggy old lady in her!

Awwwwwww....I can''t imagine what a thrill that was for you. Bet you wanted to scoop him up and just squeeze him silly. It would have taken every ounce of stamina to sit there still while he touched me like that. And then I would need a hankie because tears would be streaking down my face. I am tearing up just thinking about it!

Here's a pic of him from 2 days ago.... he's hard to get pics of because he's sooo dark.

We still have just been calling him Joe LOL But with lots of modifiers. Java Joe, Cuppa Joe, Java Joe the Kona Kitty, Injun Joe, Joe Harper, Jo-Jo, Joey, Jumpin Joe, Jo-Jo Beans.... you know LOL It was supposed to be a temp name (he was the last of the 4 named and got his by default) but.......... no one seems to be changing it LOL

I have more pics of the other kittens too if anyone wants to see them.

Mama''s doing okay - better than expected but not quite where we''d like... last couple days her meow has changed and she''s indicated a couple times she''d like to go out - and get knocked up again I bet!! She''s probably thinking wow this having kits with people thing is so much easier, maybe I should do it twice this year!! um NOOOOOOO!!!!

She begs for food. Its understandable. She''s confused. We''re nice to her, she feels safe here, we''re eating... why won''t we give her some? She isn''t spiteful, but she doesn''t understand and we''re pretty, no very strict about no cats on the counters etc. She jumped on the counter today and THANKFULLY she landed on something that caused a big scene with stuff flying off at her onto the ground so *hopefully* she''ll be too scared to jump up there again soon LOL To my knowledge that is the first she has gone up there, but she''s been on the table in the DR a couple times. Really, for a stray she''s doing *amazingly* well. Not handling the confines of the litter box super well. I watched her outside once and she used about 3''x3'' to go #2 and was very elaborate in her digging and covering process LOL She goes in the liter but often doesn''t cover it because there''s no grainy stuff where she''s used to having it, away from the *stuff*. All of the them are going to the docs this week for fiv/flv testing and one of the kittens is over 2 pounds now so the rest will be next week and we''ll go from there.

I want to keep them all. ::sigh::
 
It''s probably partly hormones telling her ''I need to go out.'' If you can get her fixed, it will likely abate, if not stop altogether. It was remarkable the change in disposition (for the better) once Holly got fixed. I''m so glad they''re doing well in your care!

Sara, I believe we fostered kittens at the same time, and I too took one of the 9 babies in as my own. He wakes me up every morning with little licking kisses on my upper lip, he has adapted to this crazy house of mine (4 dogs 2 cats and now him) so well. When he crawls into my lap and curls up in a lil ball for a "cat nap" it melts my heart and insures me that I did a great thing for the lil furbabies.
