I thought maybe I would have regrets or mind clean issues since I only covet natural gemstones but I don’t. I love my lab diamonds as much or more than my earth mined diamonds. What about you guys?IMG_3978.jpeg

Your collection is wonderful and drool-worthy! May I ask where you got the lab-grown antique cut stones? They're gorgeous!

So far, I've purchased five lab diamonds, but one of them I haven't seen yet in person, so I can only speak to the four I have in my possession. Those four, though, are just incredibly, deeply beautiful. While the ring I just recently got from Loose Grown Diamond has issues, the 1.27ct center stone is just....unbelievable. I've never seen anything like it. It literally outsparkles my premium-cut moissanite and shoots off nearly as much rainbows of color - a feat I didn't think possible. Even though it's not an H&A stone, It blatantly outperforms the mined 0.6ct AGS 000 certified H&A with the perfect Pricescope proportions that I have in my halo. Even the little 0.5ct Lightbox stone I have, which is only guaranteed to be a very good cut, is absolutely gorgeous and puts all my mined stones of similar sizes to abject shame. Suffice it to say that I'm absolutely thrilled with lab-grown diamonds, even without considering the price!

The lab OMC was Ritani. The round OEC was a recut by Ashley at SW diamond cutters. If you are looking for an OMC you can search for cushion cut diamonds with a large culet. Here's a cute OMC with some mild striation that I don't think will affect the performance of the diamond. If it does, Ritani has a good return policy. 2.22 carat E/VS1 for about $1400 after taxes.

Oooo, thank you! That's gorgeous!

I just purchased a lab grown diamond a few weeks ago. It took a few years of tossing the idea of lab around before I finally pulled the trigger. It still isn’t set but I’m surprised by the fact that I don’t really feel anything different towards it. I thought I would feel weird about it or feel like it was fake but I don’t. Now I can’t figure out if I’ve been smart for only buying natural diamonds or if I’m stupid for not buying all lab. I have a lab grown sapphire that I never got around to setting and I do feel weird about that one.

I love lab diamonds for letting me try new cuts and colors.

Faceted sphere. This one took the cutter 3 tries. Can you imagine the cost in natural?

Likewise a pink rose cut.

I don’t wear giant jewels very often so why would I ever otherwise spend the money on a 4.5 carat stone in an unusual cut? I just wanted a ring with this style of setting for occasional wear.

Wanted a OEC rose gold ring but I already had old cuts so why pay a lot of money to get another old cut just so I would have one in rose gold?

Fancy asscher was pretty and I have no complaints against the seller. But not to my taste. The seller was kind enough to let me exchange for a different stone but if they had not made an exception to their policy, I would have been out a lot of money for a natural stone. Plus I have a natural asscher so there was no need to collect one just to get a specialty asscher cut.

The debate rages on and on about whether to spend $$$ on super ideal MRB stones. I tried one in LGD and can definitely see the difference, but I can’t afford super ideal MRB in natural in all my jewelry so LGD lets me have the super ideal option.

If I bought a natural pink diamond of the size and quality of this LGD, I would not be able to afford the rest of my collection. And the beauty of this pink LGD made me realize that it might be worth spending money to complete a natural color collection.

Wanted to see if grey diamonds have that rainbow-out-of darkness look you see in Etsy photos. This one is set in black rhodium and it is kind of cool but not price-of-1-carat-natural cool.

Carre — cool step cut effect but I have other step cuts and a carre cut was not on my natural diamond bucket list.

Unusual Rensu cut looked cool in moissanite when I saw it online, but I prefer diamonds. Never would have taken a chance on this cut in natural
IMG_6477.jpeg

Another example of wanting a cut I already had, except in rose gold. Why spend $$$ to duplicate the cut, just to get the rose gold?

A modest little antique-replica ring for occasional wear when I want a modest little antique-replica ring. I don’t need everything in natural.

The natural dark violet-grey center diamond was not cheap so there was no reason to spend extra money on the custom cut colorless halo. If I am going to build a natural color collection then I need to save money on settings.

This ring is the opposite: the natural French cuts in the fancy platinum setting that was hand-forged to the tune of Anvil of Crom cost a pretty penny so why get a natural center diamond, especially since I have a natural AVC in another ring? I got this ring for the setting, not the center stone.
IMG_1778.jpeg

Here is the one that started it all. I always wanted an AVR but wanted to collect other things and I never would have paid for a natural one. (But after getting this LGD I ended up getting natural AVRs, so to those vendors who are holding out hope that not cutting specialty-cut diamonds in LGD will preserve the market for natural specialty cut diamonds, you might find the opposite to be true).
