i have a bit of an update as well. as of 10 am they''re predicting a cat 3/2 in our area. like our home

. very scary. very. that''s the hardest we''ve ever been hit.

thanks everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers. i''m so thankful we boarded up and are safe. i just hope we have a home to go back to. urgh. and what we didn''t take with us. it''s so unbelievably hard to make that call. what''s important. what''s not. sigh. and now it''s just a waiting game.

How long are the predicting until the power is back on?

Well, it is still 90 degrees here, and sunny. Chance for thunderstorm this afternoon, but they have nothing to do with Gustav. Ironic part... my parents who were down from Dallas are probably going to get the rain once it crosses thru the Texas/Louisianna/Arkansas border,

Well... now we wait for Hannah, Ike, and Ten.

ten is now josephine. sigh.

good news, though! lots of good news. we have power and no damage to our house. in fact, i don''t think we lost power except for a brief minute or so. my family is still all safe and we''re back home too. my grandparents live in a historic part of town and they have some downed trees and powerlines but they think that''s it. thank goodness they decided not to stay there at their house.

i want to thank everyone for the good thoughts and prayers. i truly appreciate it.

i hope cleo is able to pop in soon with good news as well.

JCrow...glad you are safe...it looks like NO was spared a bit...but BR got nailed...it says right now that it may take 4-6 weeks for all of BR to get power back...and some of the chemical plants accross teh river have major dameage...

Fortunately we moved north weeks ago (perm move)...

Unfurtunately we have a house in BR still...have no idea if anything happened to it...the closing is supposed to be on the 15th...

We are ok here - damage from the storm is minimal - however, we will need a new roof

We still have no power here and are at a friends house temporarily. Thank god for AC at their home...

I hope we get power soon - mainly for grocery stores and food to reopen here in Baton Rouge. Many people did not prepare for such a hard storm and don''t have too many days worth of food, water, ice, gas, etc.

Our energy crews are working round the clock, but the damage is so substantial, they are talking WEEKS to get us up and running....

Thank you all for thinking of me - Jcrow - I''m so glad the damage was minimal at your home!! Glad to hear you are all ok!!
