Huggie Hoops (attn: blueiris)

Love your DBTY necklace, blueiris! It looks perfect on you - I love the spacing and the .12 pointers are the perfect size too  :appl:

Great purchase!

Very pretty! I actually think the 12 pointers look good! Thanks so much for the pictures!!! I am thinking of doing 11 stones which would leave just a little more space between the stones than yours, but I think it will still work. This one from Tiffany's has 11 stones at 14 points each, so that is kind of what I am going for (but may do 12's depending on pricing).

Love the Tiffany one, too, of course! I don't think you can go wrong with either 12 or 14 points. For me, since I'm so tall, I think I would do a little bigger if I were doing it over.

Enerchi, thanks so much! I don't wear my DBTY now (I have another solitaire diamond necklace that I wear every day) - but I still like it a lot. :)

blueiris...any news on your ring??? I am thinking it should be about time!

One other question on the DBY...is yours 18" or 16"? Because that makes a difference on how many stones are needed and I think your spacing looks nice.

Nothing yet! I was just thinking today that tomorrow will be 2 weeks since Vatche received my stone. I hope I hear something soon! I'm nervous about it ...

My DBTY is 18". (16" necklaces are a little too short looking on me.) It sounds like you're getting one! Yay! I'm excited for you. :D

Any more progress on the huggies for you? I know you were going to try to get a couple to try. I got confirmation on the weight of the gold huggies (nickel/gold - palladium/gold may be a bit lighter) with 15 pointers. They're 3 grams each, which was what I guessed.

Your earrings are perfect size. Real beauties! Congrats!

Do the platinum ones feel heavy?

How much do the platinum one's weigh? I am wondering what percentage change 2g is. I am thinking that most of the weight is the diamonds...

WF told me that the platinum pair, before the diamonds are added and before being polished, weigh 11.5 g. total (for both earrings). The finished platinum pair, according to my gram scale, weigh 10 g. total (5 g. each). As for the gold, WF said their weight is around 6 g. total, again before the diamonds are added and the gold is polished - so I'm estimating around 3 g. each for finished weight, but it may be a little under that. Unfortunately, they don't have a finished pair in the gold that they can weigh for me to do a more accurate comparison.

The platinum pair did feel heavier than I'm used to, but I'm not sure if part of that is because all I've worn for over a year now is my diamond studs, which weigh 1 g. each. Also, the hoops move around a bit when you move your head, so you can feel the weight more, if that makes sense. Any thoughts? Thanks dreamer, I appreciate the help! :)

Hi blueiris, your new earrings and your DBTY necklace are just gorgeous on you!

I just wanted to add my experience with earring weight. For me 2 grams is significant and the lighter the better in terms of wearability for the long term as well as comfort. Over time earlobes can become droopy and that is not an attractive look so I vote for the lighter earrings if that is a concern.

Thank you, stci! I think WF did a great job with their new design.

Missy, thank you for your kind words on the huggies and my DBTY, and for your input on the weight of the earrings! I tried on more earrings that I'd weighed yesterday and in the end, I think you're right that 2 grams will make a difference. I just emailed Sheerah that I want to get the huggies in the palladium white gold. :) I do not want droopy ear lobes! (Though that does seem to happen somewhat with age anyway, alas!)

You're very welcome blueiris. May you wear them in health and happiness!

I thought it must be about time! Hopefully, you will have the ring soon!!

This is very strange, but I never heard back from them this week. So I am just uncertain about the whole thing at this point.

Missy, thank you. :)

That is odd! Have you tried contacting them? I have an ETA for my remade (palladium white gold) huggies: March 12th.

I emailed about the ring and Vatche wouldn't commit to a day, but it's supposed to be ready sometime next week, as late as Friday. Then it has to go to the appraiser, then on to me. This has taken a while but hopefully I'll have it soon, and even more hopefully, I will like how it's set!

Oh, I surely hope so!!! I think your stone will be beautiful in the setting and it will make me want a larger stone!

I just don't know. When someone tells me they are going to call twice, and then they don't call, I just lose a little interest. Although there's always the chance the person has been sick all week or something like that.

Larger stone, eh? Maybe that can be your OEC/OMC/AVR/AVC choice!

I hope you hear from WF soon! A couple of times I've had to email again after not getting a response, but there was always a reason the person hadn't responded.
