Good evening. I’ve been reading everyone’s post and it’s been very helpful to me. So much fun reading everyone’s input, stories, proposals, questions, and seeing all the eye candy!
I’m currently in the market to upgrade my engagement stone. I’ve narrowed it down to the 2 stones within the price range my dearest husband and I has discussed. However, I’m torn between which one to choose, as they both look very similar and amazing to me. But just to make sure, I wanted to check with all the diamond fanatics and fans out there for the best choice and the best bang for the buck. Obviously getting the larger one for less money is great! But if the 1.72 is going to truly out-perform the 1.80, I would still definitely go for the 1.72.
The first stone is a 1.72 H si1 $14,279 http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6727/
The second stone is a 1.80 H si1 $ 13,272 http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6345/
Here is a video for comparison: http://www.vimeo.com/7852817
I am leaning towards the 1.80 H si1 because it is bigger and $1000 less. However, there is one heart out of place, which I guess doesn’t make it a true hearts and arrow. Also, when a Brilliance scope was done on both of them, the 1.80 didn’t score as high as the 1.72. I’m wondering if the out of place heart is lowering the result? Jonathan did talk to me about it and told me it’s probably something I can’t pick out with my naked eye…. And I have a sneaking suspicion he might be right. But human nature makes me want to confirm this with you guys.
I hope it’s ok, not sure if it is, but here are the brilliance scope links on the 2 stones:

I was concerned with the 1.80 looking a more dull and grey in most of the different light views.
Jonathan at GOG had said to me that the 1.80 is beautiful regardless, which I believe him. But would the 1.72 perform more amazingly if it were side by side to the 1.80 in person?
Please help!!! Sorry for being so crazy, I’m probably nit picking now. But I figured, hey.. It’s a diamond forum, I might be forgiven for being a little crazy.
