I just received my pair of HPD Platinum Diamond hoop earrings - 1.80ctw, F color, VS clarity. They are lovely. I had an great experience with HPD. Melissa provided me with all the information I requested very promptly and she was so helpful. I had a wonderful phone conversation with Wink - he seems like an amazing person with such an interesting life.
I was looking for an alternate daily earring, and these are my first ever hoops.

I had originally tried on a pair of inside/out hoop earrings at Tiffany. They looked really pretty on the ear and I was tempted. They were more than I wanted to spend for a diamond hoop though. The sales associate didn't seem to know a lot about the specifics of the diamonds. I contacted (email) a "Tiffany diamond specialist" and asked them about the diamond quality.
I was very surprised at what she told me about the over 8K earring:
The color range of the diamonds were G-J and the clarity range is IF-Si1

So there was a chance I would get J colored, SI1 diamonds?

I spoke with Melissa at HPD, and received gorgeous top quality diamonds(F, VS), set in platinum, higher carat weight, for significantly less money.
