Need help from CS friends here! Do I need another project? NOOOOOPE! but here we are and I can't stop thinking about this stone.

It's super long (16 x 5.4 x 3.9mm). I think it would have to be a pendant. Does anyone have examples of a long emerald cut pendant?

Pics (shhh it's an unmentionable, but since I'm asking about settings I hope it's ok)

What an amazing stone! I’m afraid I have no idea what an unmentionable is, but wanted to pop up and ask whether you’d consider getting this set into an EW ring?

At 16mm that would be incredible finger coverage and the skinny proportions of the stone are so fresh/modern! And you’d get to look at it whilst you’re wearing it!

Whilst I don’t have any inspiration photos of elongated emerald pendants, here are two elongated EW rings

Thanks! Unmentionable means it's not a natural stone haha. I like the inspo!

If you're going to get an unmentionable, then this is the one to get. It's amazing!

I second EW ring. Granted, this tourmaline is fatter and not as long, but it shows the idea:

With this stone, which would cover the whole width of your finger, you could make a very cool clean-lined 'modern' U-shaped design.

But (two bob each way) you could also make a stunning vertical pendant with just a gold cap and the minimum necessary frame.

What do you mean by a U-shape? I agree, it could be a cool ring, but also a nice simple pendant

This concept (adapted for the shape of the stone, of course):

Here's another E/W concept, from my inspo folder:

Aaaah gotcha! Thanks, I didn't even think of that!

I saw that stone and thought it was a very stunning piece, glad to see it has been snapped up by a PSer! :kiss2:

Here are some of my elongated EC inspiration settings.

This one used to belong to another PSer:

Another inspo, and I would use baguettes on the sides:

Another one, again, probably a longer baguette as the first side stone:

A simpler ring:

The last one I have in mind, and I can't find the photo anymore, is a East - West design, with small MRB diamonds at each end of the stone, something like this (I quite like the idea of baguettes at both ends too):

These are earrings but I thought the design was really interesting plus they are made to have a removable pearl drop on the bottom. [From AnnieCase website]. Aquamarine Earrings.jpg

Gorgeous stone and would be a fun project!
I like the look of a simple thick bezel with and interesting chain.

or you could frame it with a design you like..something like these

This design would look great with a plain or chunky chain

or a setting like this with diamond or CS accent stone would look pretty

Beautiful stone!

The instant I saw it I pictured it hanging vertically in a pendant!

I wouldn't set it in a ring.

What a gorgeous stone! All neat ideas shared. If you're looking for a more simple/everyday piece, I could totally see this set horizontally in a pendant, in a 4 prong or bezel type setting. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

If you want to save some money Stuller has some nice pendant designs and most of them are customizable — meaning your vendor can adapt an emerald setting for your stoned proportions. They offer 10k gold and sterling silver too.

It's super long (16 x 5.4 x 3.9mm). I think it would have to be a pendant.

Not necessarily. It's not that outrageously long, and there's definitely room for it to be set n/s in a ring with plenty of room to the sides for creative expression. And you'd end up with great finger coverage.

There are so many directions you could go with that stone. At first glance the shape seems limiting, but it's the opposite, it opens so many possibilities.

Personally, this beautiful stone is probably too small as a pendant in a simple setting for my big chubby neck.

It is crying out to be set in a ballerina ring pendant setting to me, and the ring would be for my chubby fleshy middle left hand finger which is size 11.5 US!

Whatever you will decide, it is going to be fabulous as the stone is fabulous! :kiss2:

@lovedogs What did you decide on this one? I saw it was available again and wondered if you'd returned/cancelled it.

I never bought it because i just couldn't figure out a setting design that "spoke" to me. I hope someone snags it! I have so many loose stones that I now won't buy anything without knowing how I'm going to set it
