I just bought a EGL-NY certified 2.21, SI1, E, I want to have it GIA or AGS certified for peace of mind, how do I go about doing that? I have been reading this board for a long time and it provides me with very helpful information on my purchase, but this is the first message I posted on this board.

Thanks.

I'm not certain about AGS, but GIA requires that diamonds be submitted to them through a member of the trade. I seem to remember that AGS operates the same way.

You could have your local jeweler or gemologist submit it for you, probably for a minimal shipping and handling charge in addition to the certification cost.

Rocky,

Try to call AGS and GIA and just ask whether you can submit your stone and what will be involved.

GIA GEM TRADE LABORATORY
Carlsbad Information 760-603-4500
New York City Information 212-221-5858

AGS Labs
Las Vegas: (702) 233-6120

I'm sure you will have to establish an account and do some paperwork first.
