Can someone tell me how I would go about getting a price estimate from WF on a custom ring setting? I have photos, sketches, and details in mind that I would want combined to create a ring. Should I email these to someone specific in their office?

i would call them first and let them assign you a sales rep, then you can talk and email directly with that person. at least that's what I did when i ordered my eternity band.

ETA: my sales rep was Bob

i would call and ask for bob. you can dicsuss with him what you want and then email your ideas.

do we get any sneek peeks?

I third the recommendation of asking for Bob. I am working with him right now on my diamond hoops.

I too am having my ring made with WF, my setting costs $1385 and does not include the three main stones. My post is below this one called "larger size worth the money?". You can look at my setting (which includes 14 melee diamonds to get an idea of what it is going to cost. Obviously it depends a lot on the size of the accent diamonds you are going to use and how much metal (mine being a thin 2mm wide band). Talk to Bob but be careful as they can be very persuasive in starting you right away, unless that is what you want to do then by all means get a hold of ''em!!

We want a sneak peek! We want a sneak peek! (chug, chug, chug!)

Yeah dont hold out on us!

or you can just send an email to [email protected] with all your information and images, and ask for someone to call you to discuss. then it would be whoever is available...renee, bob, etc. have fun!

I have already been talking to a rep through email but about diamonds only. Are you saying I need to contact Bob about the setting? Do they have separate reps for diamonds and settings? Or does everyone there know everything? (

I know WF reps are very smart!) It seems like most people talk to Bob about settings though.

I''ll see what I can do with the sneak peek! I''m just doing pre- e-ring research

If I can convince my BF to do this custom job it won''t be for a few more months!

if you are already working with someone else, then just continue with them. that would be the easiest.

sunkist, you are already working with WF? then just ask THEM who to talk to regarding custom! but chances are you will work with the same person you are working with now so it stays streamlined.

Alright, thanks Mara. And thanks everyone for your replies and interest in my future ring. I''ll just keep it all with one rep.

So, did somebody said they wanted a sneak peek!?! Here it is.... It''s simple I know, but it will hopefully be just the right amount of detail to make it simple but elegant!

I love it! I can''t wait to see it come to life!

very pretty! did you check out fay cullen''s website? her sapphire halo rings (diamond inside, sapphires outside) have a beautiful gallery pattern that reminds me alot of what you drew, check it out!

Ya! Mara, I know what you're talking about. And I absolutely love the saphire halo! But I think I won't be doing that for the e-ring. The only thing I'm concerned about when I look at galleries fay cullen's rings is that they stick out so far from the center of the ring so a wedding ring wouldn't fit flush. I think for a wedding band I'd just go for a plain white gold band to match the e-ring. Maybe they'll be knife edge or "trapezoid" shape so their a little more interesting...

I love that Tacori setting (it is right?) you might want to be careful though. I know they need to make significant changes to the design so they don''t deal with copywrite issues.

Thanks Tacori! Ya, that''s another concern. That picture is a Tacori and I am in love with the top view of the ring, but I don''t much care for the gallery. So I re-did the whole gallery to what I would like. I also changed the height, the length of the "arms", and the conture of the band. I read a thread here on PS where someone quoted having to change 20% of the ring design. I''m not sure how to quantify this or even where they got that number from. Anyways, when does it become my ring design?

Here''s one of the rings that I got my inspiration from. Does it look too much like a copywrite issue?

Don''t worry, it would take allot less than this, and it doesn''t look like jewelry design ownership is an issue (for better or worse) - only selling something as original to a brand is (e.g. Tiffany''s complaint about Ebay does not regard rings like the ''Tiffany style'' settings sold here which are not claimed to be originals, but fakes claimed to be made by Tiffany).

Btw. Gorgeous idea! And WF did at least one more ring styles somewhat after the same Tacori model - with a marquise, a while back. No reason to believe yours will not turn out at least as nice

Thanks Valeria!! And thanks for the reassurance too. All this stuff about personal mental design property drives me crazy

Schools are constantly paranoid about plagairism (and for a good reason, I agree) but I think sometimes they get carried away. Anyways, thanks
