I purchased this tourmaline from Michael at Litnon in 2022.
The description said :
"Origin: Afghanistan
Weight: 3.79 carats
Size: 9.3 x 8.1 x 6.8 mm deep
Clarity: IF to VVS Top Clean gemstone!
Cut: Well cut cushion shape
Color: Slightly greenish blue"
It is hard to capture the colour in photos - the first one is under indoor (overhead) artificial light. The second is with daylight from outside (overcast day).
It almost seems like a pale blue aquamarine at times (indoor lighting) but then shifts. Every single photo looks different and sometimes even different from what I see when taking the photo !
Is there another term for this type of tourmaline colour / way of describing it?
Follow up question, I picked this stone because the colour seemed interesting - is this colour rare/unusual for tourmaline?
