how to clean diamond rings?

My fiancee and I got engaged and now she is looking to buy a machine at home to clean the ring occasionally. We see steam cleaners and ultrasonic cleaners. Any advice on whats good?

I like my sharper image US cleaner. And then just a baby toothbrush and some dish soap and a good scrub under warm water does the trick too.

i have tiny topaz and sapphire stones inside the band. i hear these colored stones are pretty fragile. will the steamer damage them?

No. As long as they are securely set you should have no problem with a steamer.

And this is what is quoted:

True, but steaming does not result in a solid blow unless you drop it while you’re steaming. The 'high heat' required to change the color is well beyond what a steaming will do.

And not tp be cavalier, but if the little stones were to become damaged in some way, they are inexpensive to replace.

No, I think Dreamer is talking about her Ultra Sonic cleaner, not a steam cleaner. Not 100% sure but the Sharper Image is not available anymore, because they are out of business, maybe used pieces can be had on ebay

don't waste your money. buy an American made US cleaner.
