how to clarity enhance a garbage stone THATS been irradiated?

Hi there

I''m having some garbage stones irradiated, but I wanna fix up the clarity while Im at it.

Is it best to do it before or after the irradiation?

And what does fracture filling andf laser drilling cost in India? Any leads for that?

The heat generated during the irradiation process, and even more so the subsequent annealing (if you don''t want a greenish color) can damage the high-lead glass filling. Thus I would suggest doing the clarity after the irradiating. Sorry don''t know any companies in India that do clarity enhancement.

You’ve asked a variety of similar questions to this since you've joined the forum. You did know that this is a consumer forum, didn’t you? I would not recommend a consumer embark on having ANY stone drilled, filled and irradiated by an overseas vendor, regardless of the cost. Would you?

I have no issues having diamonds irradiated in India, as thats where its done mostly.
It only costs $50 a carat (or less) to color treat them there.
Except it sucks with irradiation because they cant do pink, thats what HPHT is for.


Like sure I''de have my diamonds color treated and clarity enhanced in the US if the price was right

NO WAY would I ever recommend a US client sending their diamond outside the country for ANYTHING
