what i mean is how should the prongs on the setting below look???
the cut corners on the asscher make me wonder how this setting will work...

oh and Grif if you are around drop me a PM I would like to discuss you possibly making this setting for me since I CANNOT find anyone in my area that has one or makes me feel good enough to do it for me.

Here are the specifics:

1.09 carats
dimensions: 5.74 x 5.67 x 3.95

GIA Cert #: 12405346
CUT: ASSCHER STYLE
COLOR: G
Clarity: VS2
Depth: 69.7%
Table: 59%
Polish VG
Symetry G
Flour: None
Girdle: Med Thick

I went to ROYAL ASSCHER''s web site and searched their diamonds to research their cut(dimensions) etc...
what i found:

the DEPTH''s of the ROYAL ASSCHER''s were btwn 65.5% & 73.7%
however only 3 of their 25 diamonds were above a 70% depth...so most of the depths were evenly distributed btwn 65.5 to 68.9% range

the TABLE''s of the ROYAL ASSCHER''s were btwn 54% to 61% however ONLY 2 were above 59%

i had a friend look at the stone and he said it is completely EYE CLEAN ....it does have a small cloud but he had a hard time seeing that with the eye pc....is a cloud worrisome??

another view and the one that concerns me the most with the pronges

also can anyone give me a ROUGH IDEA as to the cost of that setting in
Platinum
&
White Gold

2.5mm is prefered unless someone says that with a 1.09 it should be 3mm(she likes a 2.5 that she tried on one day.)

one last question ...if the prongs are filed flat on top is that gonna cause any problems??

Interesting notes about the RA...

First, congratulations for the beautiful diamond!
About your questions:
#1 a cloud as small as a VS2 type inclusion should certainly not be visible (as you say) and does not pose any problems whatsoever.
#2 making the prongs flat is just a minor adjustment to the finish of the setting: no problems there... However, the shape of the prongs may not be as in the picture, because your stone does not have pointed corners as the princess (a good thing, given that those are prone to getting chipped).

and my 0.2 #3 the setting is rather high, which makes it uncomfortable to wear, to some (including this person) - if you go for a custom made setting, it may be worth giving the option to set the stone lower a thought.

thanks for your input.....my fiance to be tried the "Princess Cut in the setting ABOVE" on and hated the stone but LOVED THE SETTING and HEIGHT(she REALLY LOVED)
