Hello all,

Good morning, like most of you I have questions...most recently my boyfriend went down to the imfamous diamond district in New York. He did his home work in term of diamond education, one of the places he felt comfortable purchasing is from David S Diamonds. However, we are still trying to do some homework on their reputation before he goes ahead and make a purchase from them, can you folks please share your thoughts from personal experience or from what you have heard about them.

Thanks much!

I don''t know them.

If you can get some information on the stone/stones you''re considering from them, then post the info here, you''ll get some honest responses.

Elle,

From what little I know, its a 1.8c (princess cut), SI1, not sure if its a G or H color pricing $9600

Well, first question is: how do you know it''s a G or H SI1? does it come with a cert or is this the sellers opinion? If it does come with a cert, what lab graded it?

If the stone is indeed a G, SI1 then based on the pricescope search, it''s a good price for a 1.80 princess. If it''s an H, then it''s pretty much on par with the prices.

I''m not taking cut into consideration though. Just looked up the prices based on what you said. If this is an EGL graded diamond, or any other lab aside from GIA or AGS, I would take it to an appraiser first to see what they have to see regarding the color and clarity. Depending on that, the price may be fair or may be waaay off.

The most important thing though is do YOU LOVE the stone. Does it sparkle, does it have life? Have you been able to see the stone outside of the store? Those pretty lights inside the store can make even the worst of stones look good.

Also, I hardly know a thing about princess cuts. Do a search here though and you''ll find a ton of information on them.

me and my bf just bought my engagement ring, wedding band and his weddinb band from david s. diamonds. they are very professional and nice. they told us everything about how to select a good diamond, even though me and my bf had already spent 2 months to study diamonds ourselves. their price is good too. they are focus on the cut. we got triple excellent cut. our diamond looks so sparkle. we loved their professional service and felt comfortable talking to them. not like other sellers in diamond district, so sneaky and unhonest. we haven''t finally gotten our rings yet. it takes a few weeks to resize and make my matching wedding band. i''m so excited to see my engagment ring soon. can''t wait :-)
good luck to yours
