I have scoured the archives and read quiet a bit about how the roughness of pave rings can make them uncomfortable to wear (or at least take a while to get used to). Is this the same for micro-pave? Or do the smaller diamonds help make micro-pave rings a little more comfortable? THIS dialog is the most relevant I have found so far. Any more opinions would be appreciated.

Also, any idea if going with bead-set over fishtail (or vice versa) makes a difference?

(btw, the width of the ring I have in mind is 2mm, and I''m leaning towards 75% eternity if that makes any difference)

Hi Leonidas, I guess I am confused

although I have not done a similar search, I do have a 3-sided pave ring and it is incredibly comfortable - the only part of the ring that touches the skin is on the inside and is totally smooth? The pave is on the top and 2 sides of the ring, I am trying to figure out what would make pave any less comfortable to wear than any ring?

Hi,

I just got mine recently and the band is no thicker than 1.5 mm (I think.) Despite the thin band and lots of weight on top, it is amazingly comfortable. I have the classic Tiffany style ering and I find this one more comfortable. The reason that it is more comfortable is probably due to size though. My original ering is a 4.75 whereas the new one is a 4.25. Having said that, the pave does not bother me in any way.

I''ve never heard (or seen) anyone complain about discomfort from a pave ring. I wouldn''t worry about it.

hey... i agree with the others...my ering is 3-sided micro-pave "75% eternity" and at first i thought it would be uncomfortable to wear all day/night....but once i put it on i hardly felt the ring...i highly doubt that pave would bother your fingers...unless you''re skin is sensitive (my cuz cant wear her rings too long she gets this type of rash...i think its a reaction to gold...lol) ne ways pave/micro-pave are extremely comfortable by my standards[:appli dont know the width of the band..u can look at my pics in show me the ring

Hey Babysteps, glad to hear your pave is so comfortable! I was referring to how it felt against your middle and pinky fingers. My GF didn''t mention anything about the rings she tried on being rough against her other fingers, but I had read enough on here to worry me (and she really only had them on for a few minutes). I guess I can''t really figure out why pave rings would feel any rougher than rings with prong-set stones on the side.

Anyway, Ginzagirl, Haven, and No Stone UNturned - thanks for putting my mind at ease. No Stone, it took me a little bit, but I found your ring - it looks amazing! You mentioned that you designed it; may I ask if it was a local jeweler or an online jeweler?

I think as long as pave is well done it is FINE. I have had 2 pave rings that are incredibly comfortable. But I have also tried on pave rings at stores that were clearly subpar, and itchy! So as long as you get good quality pave you will be fine.

I have a beadset eternity and it is extremely comfortable to me. DH says sometimes it pokes him when we are holding hands, though!

I have a prong-set right hand ring with pave, and it does poke at my pinky finger a bit. Bead-set bothers me far less.

I do have chubby little fingers though, so take that with a grain of salt heh.

In my opinion, it is just a new feeling on the fingers. I think anyone can get used to it if they love the look of it enough.

I have a three-sided micro-pave bead set eternity ring that I have been wearing non-stop for about six weeks. I was concerned with irritation, but It has not bothered me at all. Rarely do my fingers rub onto the ring. Only time I take the ring off is to shower, to clean it or to work out. I even sleep with it on. I love it. I hope this helps you. Good luck!
