How put-together do you look on a normal non-working day?

I've seen some major style mavens on the forum. I am... not one of those. I pretty much live in jeans and sneakers, no makeup. I envy those who always look ready to be on a runway, but I can't be bothered to put in the effort.

What about you? To be more specific, on a day when you'll leave the house, not a lounging-at-home day.

I was born in the south although I don’t live there now. My mother and aunts NEVER left the house without hair and makeup done. I guess that rubbed off on me - lol! If it is a day I am going anywhere, I have to do have hair and makeup. Would feel naked without it. Not fancy like a dinner party but surely presentable. It is a blessing and a curse I guess - they considered it a matter of pride but it can be cumbersome haha!

I’m a grandma that lives in jeans in the cool weather. Everything I wear matches down to my hairband. I never leave without a bit of lipstick to brighten my face. Depending where im going I curate my jewelry. I’m wear three earrings in each ear again. My grandma didn’t look anything like gma’s today!

No makeup ever. It depends on where I am going. Jeans, bra, and a top of some form most of the time. If it is the lumberyard or hardware store up in town, I might just keep on whatever comfortable pants I had on along with my usual lounging strappy tank top, no bra, and a zip up fleece jacket or similar.
Usually wearing sandals unless the snow is too deep.

I'm primarily a jeans and a nice tee-shirt (do those exist?) kind of girl. I don't usually leave the house without make-up on. Its just a
matter of how much. Running to the grocery store will get you under eye-cover and blush. Going to a doc apt. or shopping will
get you pretty much everything except eye-shadow and mascara. I'm not a big mascara girl. I hate to take it off, so I don't wear it much. I use generic Latisse on my lashes which helps.

I have one nice casual tee-shirt dress that works great for doc apt/shopping. I need some more for variety!

I do occasionally do the layered look with a tank top and short sleeve shirt half-buttoned with jeans. That's a little dressier
look (for me). :cheeky: In other words, I'm pretty casual.

I got called for jury duty a couple of months ago. I had to do a deep dive in my closet to find dress pants and suitable dresses
for about a weeks worth. Ended up only having to go for one day. I stressed way more about what to wear than any normal
person should have.;-)

90% of the time I am in Levi’s of one sort or another. Depending on where I’m going, it’ll be a nice jumper, a pretty blouse or a t-shirt, often with a blazer, either thick tweed or thin unlined cotton depending on the weather & a casual scarf. I also layer a lot with long sleeve t-shirts with short sleeve ones or blouses over. On my feet I usually wear ‘smart’ trainers (white & clean, maybe Ralph Lauren), ballet pumps, winter boots or summer sandals.

In spring or autumn, I’ll often pair a midi dress with a polo neck jumper underneath, tights & lace up boots. When it’s very warm I’ll be wafting around in said midi dress by itself or a maxi dress & sandals / pretty flip flops.

I’m not a huge make-up wearer & hate full foundation. I generally wear a tinted primer that can be layered in problem areas, under eye concealer, mascara & a nude lipgloss. I’ll add heavier gloss & eyeliner / shadow for a more dressy occasion.

ha I comb my hair! I wear a sports bra and a button-down or tunic with black or navy pants! I wear comfortable shoes! I wear blingbling on my fingers! I dab on a teeny little bit of color on my lips!

Then I come home and take off my blingbling, put on a different more comfortable sports bra, dark Tee & yoga pants, sometimes a flannel or pullover on top, and home shoes.

In the interests of public safety, I never leave the house without makeup on! :lol:Even if I’m just going to be at home, I still put make up on every day and make sure my hair is clean and styled. My everyday clothes have changed considerably since the move, but I still dress well in this heat. I don’t wear trainers per se, but I do wear Skecher type shoes with jeans or shorts if I’m going to be walking anywhere, otherwise I wear nice sandals with linen dresses or coordinating crops and tops.

I’m just not a casual type of person.

To be more specific, on a day when you'll leave the house, not a lounging-at-home day.

This is an important clarification because if I don’t have to get out of the house, good luck making me get out of my pyjamas…

I dress casually. My clothes are clean, my hair is clean and brushed, and that’s about it. Oh, I always apply concealer because the skin under my eyes is super transparent and I look like I’m permanently suffering from insomnia.

I always wear foundation with SPF because I look too pale without it and need sun protection. I always wear a lipstick too.
walking the dogs I’m wearing long shorts summer, pants winter with T shirts (nice ones) summer and jumper / hiking coat if winter. I wear running shoes or hiking boots if it’s raining. Unless I going somewhere ”important” I wear these outfits all day.
jewellery wise I’m always wearing my engagement and eternity band, Apple Watch, a bracelet on my left wrist and another on my right wrist, a necklace and earrings. I’ll wear just about any piece of my jewellery walking the dogs, going to the local shops etc (except any opals, opals are special occasion only).

No makeup ever anymore for any reason.
My face is bare and I like it that way :)

Leggings and otk boots and tunics or sweaters for cooler weather.

Warmer weather casual whimsical dresses.

Hiking pants with turtlenecks and
hiking timberland boots for our cold weather hikes.

Cycling clothes during cycling season. Many different cycling outfits.

In the house I have cat clothes. Because we have four cats who love to shed on me so I have many different cat outfits I wear hanging around the house.

Meooow

Whether I'm out and about running errands , or going to work, I dress the same.
Going out of the house is going out of the house.
So jeans, casual shoes, nice shirt, blazer or pea coat (my favorite coat style) and full makeup.
You never know who you'll run into, and I don't wanna look like a hag!

I'm a vampire house cat so I typically don't go anywhere lmao. I like to stay in my nice curtained house. So I live in my baggy t shirts and shorts typically. But when I do have to leave my lair I tend to slum it in either black tank tops and leggings or black t shirts and leggings depending on if it's winter or not. No makeup unless I have to do a fancy event for my husband's work because my skin is super sensitive to stuff. So people get to just deal with seeing a natural face lol. I do however make sure to wear my beloved jewellery. I do not care if how I look doesn't match with it.

remind me what a peacoat is again ?

Homeless, I look like a homeless person.

I am a home body and I enjoy being in comfy clothes. If I need to go out, it will be jeans and a T shirt. Date night would be jeans/slacks and a blouse. My fiancé is the same way as far as enjoying isolation with me.

I’m pretty put on together, would never leave house in sweats. At least nice sweater and jeans, and boots in the winter. Hair brushed and straight with minimal make up (mascara and tinted chapstick).

Usually I wear jeans or jeggings with a nice blouse or sweater (I’m always cold). I’ve been wearing sneakers a lot, lately Hoka Cliftons, but if I’m going out to eat I will wear a nice pair of sandals or boots.
I usually just brush my hair. I hate doing my hair tbh. I wear makeup but I never wear foundation. I’ve bought it but I have no idea how to apply it and I think I look awful when I’ve tried it at home. I do wear mascara, lower eyeliner, blush and lipstick. I wear a pressed powder if I'm shiny. When I’m in a rush I just dab my lipstick on my cheeks and lips.
Oh- I always make sure I wear deodorant!

Jeans, plain Uniqlo T (non-white), zip-up fleece or merino. These are paired with either: 1) the shoes my wife liked in the store and now hates; or 2) the shoes she hated in the store and now likes. I forget which are which.

Oh, same, though I was born in California ... to parents who were raised in the South! It's definitely both a blessing and a curse. I have a pixie haircut that takes no more than a wash and a tousle, but at a minimum, I wear sunscreen (every day, whether or not I leave the house), pressed powder, lip gloss, mascara, and eyebrow pencil or shadow. It takes a lot of products to look "natural," LOL!

My eyebrows are quickly disappearing, and they need a little filling in, else I look years older and more tired than I am. Actually, I'm probably exactly as tired as they make me look.

As for clothing, I wear black capri tights and a dress almost every day. I have one pair of jeans that fits properly, and on the rare occasion that I wear them, I'll also wear a black or white tee, a cardigan, and a pendant, or my favorite butter-yellow "Cape Cod Beer" sweatshirt. It's huge, soft, and comfy, and I love it.

When not working I'm a very comfortable slob. :wavey:

Leggings or track pants and a t-shirt unless it's cold then jeans and an oversized sweatshirt. Sometimes a little foundation and blush but that's it. Shoes: Keds, Hey Dudes, Reeboks, rainboots if needed or ankle boots

I would love if you’re willing to share photos
Heres a sampling. Cycling, casual, dress, hanging around the house

Isn’t it funny how our personal style evolves?

Like so many on this thread I was born and raised in the south. Makeup and hair had to be DONE.

I hit a breaking point in my adult life when I went through severe depression and simply could not do makeup or hair, or put on a damn sweater set. Well, I say breaking point. It is probably better described as a personal awakening.

I realized that the world did not stop turning if I failed to apply lipstick. That my personal worth was not tied to the blondness of my hair. And that perhaps I needed to learn to not only be ok, but love myself just as I am. This was accelerated when my daughter looked at my roots one day and asked, ”Mommy, your hair is the same color as mine! Why do you change it?” GAH.

I hope this doesn’t sound judgmental of anyone applying makeup, coloring hair, etc. I applaud these things when done as a personal choice because it makes you feel good. My point is that I realized I was doing these things as an obligation—as something I was required to do in order to show my face. For me, it has been an act of radical self care to go the other direction. As I have gotten comfortable there, I do have occasions where I apply makeup, and now I enjoy it as one should.

As for hair—I’ve gone from long blonde and roller set on the daily to my natural light brown and either a daily ponytail or air dried and down. If I’m feeling fancy I dry it. REALLY fancy and I’ll hit it with a curling iron in select spots.

Clothes-wise, I am very casual now. I work out most days, so am often in athleisure. My wardrobe is a lot of jeans, band tees, and cute sneakers. I love black. It’s the most perfect color. I tend to buy multiples of the same thing so I don’t have to think about getting dressed. I love black leggings.

But, no matter what I’m wearing, there’s a pair of studs and usually my JUC. If I’m not actively lifting, a watch and rings.

Good points, Tonks.

I also confess to casual, but I still rock my only bling.

Love your pics, missy.

missy, is that your closet?
Are those your skeletons?

This is what I wore shopping in Vegas. Yes, it’s a t-shirt dress. It was a billion degrees.

More shopping, but at home. Very typical outfit, though I’m trying to ditch the skinny jeans for straight jeans.

Apologies for the text overlay. Most of these have already been posted on PS and are in my PS folder. Anyway, a typical leggings outfit for me. Leggings, band tee, denim jacket. And trying on a BIG emerald cut at my local jewelry store.

Cooler weather Tonks dressing while glasses shopping. Jeans, black top, black leather jacket.

I have to laugh that the one thing that’s the same in every single one of these photos is my bag. It may not be the exact same one b/c I keep wearing them out and having to repurchase, but apparently I have found true purse love with the large Longchamp Le Pliage in black. It fits my emotional support water bottle and my iPad and what more does a gal need, really? (Wait—hold up—the Vegas one is my smaller gray one. I have problems.)
