Thanks Circe. That's what the seller said, 1950's. But I use what I call the OMT(Other Man Theory). If 1 person states that it's true I may not believe but when 2 people say the same then I will believe.
I pulled the trigger and bought it. The diamonds are supposed to be VS2 and GH in color. I hope they have some sparkle. I plan to wear it instead of my engagement ring while doing outdoor fun stuff.
Awesome! It's very pretty, and I like the diamonds very much - the tiny tables make me wonder if it was remade from a considerably older piece. I hope you post many handshots when you have it ... uh ... in hand (no pun intended).
Heheheheh - looks like I'm on a roll (or channeling the seller). Just meant that it was the custom back in the day to melt jewelry down and reset the stones in the current mode, and that the discrepancy between the style of the setting and the cut of the stones suggested that might have been what happened with this piece ....
Shiny: Carpel tunnel. That's pitiful. When you go in for surgery I will most likely be on the cot next to you! LOL
Circe: You are one smart cookie! That's so much for sharing that info. Being a newbie I had no clue why "old diamonds" would be in a 50's setting. That's why I asked the age of the band. That history makes the band much more exciting to me! Gosh I hope there is not a mix of BRs and OECs in this band. I would not like that.
From those couple of pics I am amazed that you could pick out the small tables on the diamonds. I have so much to learn yet...
I also picked up a man made sapphire ring for my best friend from the same seller. I don't think I'm supposed to but I will try to slide that pic in as well as its a pretty ring.
