How much should a simple halo setting cost if I get it custom made?

Hi there. I'm very new to the world of jewellery and stumbled upon PS by accident. The community seems so nice and helpful, so I thought to post here. I'm looking to design a custom ring and have no idea what it should cost. It would be a classic oval halo in 14k white gold, with a plain shank. The ring would be for a size 5 finger (not sure if that's relevant) and would be 2 mm in width. If someone could estimate a price range, that would be very helpful.

I'm also not sure what to ask for in terms of diamonds on the halo. Sorry, I'm a complete noob at this. What size diamonds would these be? I don't want them to overpower the centre stone. Something like in the picture, would be perfect.

If you tell us where you're located, the size oval center you're planning to use, and what pricepoint you would be comfortable at, I'm sure the folks here can give you some ideas about vendor (custom and not) that might be good candidates for the project

Hi there. Thanks for your response. I feel like I'll have to opt for custom because I'm looking to add milgrain detail around the halo and around the centre stone. I haven't been able to find such a setting that also comes with a plain shank. Jewellers that to do carry a milgrain halo often have very bulky looking settings that aren't what I'm going for. My centre stone is 8x6 mm. Budget is under 2k.

You would have to enquire, but David Klass can probably do it for that budget.
Perhaps ERD (Engagement Rings Direct) as well. I would contact them for quotes.

David Klass would be your best bet. You can go not-custom - but center stones always fit into settings better if the setting is made specifically for them; no gaps, no daylight showing through. I'm guessing they can also meet your budget.

David Klass Jewelry also has a couple of micro pave specialists, so you'd be guaranteed of a great job and a lovely finish. I think they could also probably meet your budget. So I'd go DKJ, if I were looking.

Custom designs typically involve custom pricing

From your description, I think you’ll be able to find what you are looking for among an existing designer collection from a number of vendors.

But it is a very personal choice, so my advice is don’t settle for something that is “almost right...”
