I would appreciate it if you could let me know how much this diamond is worth in your opinion. I also would like to know what you think about the specs of the diamond (worst case) based on the information provided.

RB 2.72CT H VVS
PAVILLION ANGLE 40.9
CROWN ANGLE 34.2
DEPTH 61.8%
TABLE 56%
Cut, Polish & Symmetry are all EX

Worth to whom and under what circumstances? In particular, are you buying or selling?

Yes, it matters.

The 'worst case' includes some serious discrepancy on the grading. What's the source of the grading data you've provided?

Yes...who graded it (GIA, AGS etc) ?

Thank you for your reply. It is graded by GIA

I would appreciate it if you could let me know both. How much I should pay if I'm buying and how much I should expect if I'm selling.

I forgot to mention that it has medium blue flourescent.

Well regardless of whether it's a uk it really is nevertheless an incredibly pleasant price. I'm expecting the channel violet flour might whiten it upwards however regardless of whether doesn't necessarily... I truly tend not to intellect.

My partner and i loathe becoming in no time in addition to I'm delighted Image with DT a bit to study. Whenever my personal foreseeable future husband accounts for his intellect, it really is competitive with performed. This individual guaranteed doesn't would like to wait around to get committed in addition to states that we will just undertake it.

There are considerably more than 2 possible answers. In terms of what it would cost you to buy one from a dealer, it's pretty easy. Use the search database at the top of the page to enter your parameters and look for competitive offers. For the most part, these are discount sorts of sellers located in the US. Dealers then add value by things like financing, selection, settings, different locations or whatever, and you what to go with the no-frills kind of outfit or with someone who wants to add more value to it.

Pricing as a seller is more difficult because there are so many attributes that have to do with YOU rather than with diamonds. What marketplace will you be selling through? Where are you? What are your terms and conditions? Who will you be selling to? How patient are you? How lucky are you? Etc. etc. etc. There's no straight answer to put in a blog post and it would probably be helpful to seek out a competent appraiser if you're in this situation. If you're looking for a 'ballpark' sort of number, most US sellers figure about 50% - 80% of what the competitive dealers above are charging for comparable goods.

Well, I understand that there are a lot of variables here. However, I'm just looking for a rough estimate. May be it is better if I ask the question as this;
1. How much do you consider is a good deal if you were buying?
2. What would be the lowest price you would accept if you were selling (worst case)?

Go up to the search bar and see what comparable diamonds are listed at. Then subtract 30-50%. That's what I would consider a good deal if I were buying, particularly if it was closer to 50% of retail.

If I were selling it would really depend on how badly I needed the money. I'd list it at 25-30% off to start and go from there.

Thanks a lot Dancing fire :)

Are you selling?

Comparable offers in the database for GIA graded goods seem to cost about $50k. There's a couple to choose from. That's retail 'new' from discounty dealers. That's a decent benchmark to start with. Local B&M type stores are generally a little more expensive than these guys and they may be up to more like $60k or so. Branded stores will be even more. Whether or not they're worth it depends on what sorts of additional value they're supplying and what your requirements are like. Some are and some aren't.

If you're going to retail it, meaning sell it directly to an end consumer through the likes of ebay or craigslist, I would try and get about $35-40k. It may be a tough thing to retail unless you're a pretty good ebayer by the way. Buyers of this sort of thing tend to be pretty picky.

If you're going to sell it to a dealer, I would let them make bids but I would expect them to be in the $25-$35k range (in the US)

If you're going to consign it, I would expect commissions ranging from 10% to about 40% and asking prices in the neighborhood of $40-$60k (less the commission on sale).

Direct retail and consignment both involve certain risks and may also involve some costs depending on the details of what you have and where you are. For example, older grading reports on private sales are usually seen as a negative (people worry about condition) and you may want to get it reinspected at the lab. Obviously if the lab changes the grade this has a significant effect.
