How much is this Diamond E-Ring worth?

A family member has this e-ring that was never used, and we're looking to sell it. Below are pics and the appraisal specs.

Any idea how much it's worth? It was purchased at Zales for $1800. I'd imagine the resale value is substantially less.

Also, what's the best way to sell it? Ebay? Pawn shop? Ask our jeweler to help sell it for us?

Thanks!

Not my style, but it is a lot of bling for the money. I would guess $1500

I know little bit market on eBay for pre owned jewelry , so I would say something around 600$ . Best of luck !

Don’t go to a pawnbroker, they’ll give you $200 for it.
There are a couple of classifieds I believe, like Loupe Troop and Better than Diamond classified which you could try.
Ask your jeweller, though they normally want 20- 40% of the sale price.
eBay is good, but the fees (eBay and PayPal) will be about 13%. Have a look under “sold items” to see what similiar carat weight rings have actually sold for to get an idea of value.
Unfortunately you’re usually looking at getting than than half the retail price when you resell.

I think it is pretty and I would wear it on my right hand...no other opinion regarding “worth”......

It is pretty!

Quite pretty, not really my style for an e-ring but I agree that I would wear it as a rhr. I'm not sure what this would fetch on the second hand market, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be a large amount by any stretch of the imagination.

Depending on what you want to do and if you have any of the original paperwork, Zales has some "diamond events" throughout the year where you could look into trading the ring in for something that's more your style. They will match the original price for the ring.

Thanks for all the advice

Looks like Zales lets one trade in the ring at the original price -- if one buys something at 2x the cost: https://www.zales.com/in-store-services . Is that what you're referring to? To me, that's bad money after bad. ;)

Hmmmm.....I think it was a special in-store events. I had an old teeny tiny three stone trellis ring that I had bought when I was a teenager (first real job give to myself ), that I ended up trading in for a solitaire a long while back. I'm not sure if the lifetime trade in 2x cost was applied. Granted this was also 10+ years ago so the 2x might not have even existed back then.

I only mention it as an alternative option.

Oh I understand; definitely happy to hear creative solutions! Sounds like they might have made this less attractive with the 2x.

Rule of thumb for a mall store piece without a GIA certificate--10 to 30% of what you paid for it, with the former being a cheap sale to a pawn broker and the latter being a sale to a stranger on e-Bay or the like.

Best possible choice is to find somebody who just wants it and it willing to split the difference from buying it retail.

OR maybe have a jeweler (not Kay, Jared, Zales) lop off the shank and make it into a pendant.

I'd list on the site "I Do But Now I Don't". You can say it was never given and has not been worn and is in new condition. I'd be open and say the price was $1800 and you are listing at $1500 or best offer. Be prepared to get maybe $1000-1200. I think there are a lot of girls who'd love that ring for the price range it is in. Some of them might be looking at Zales anyway and would be thrilled to get a like-new one for a second hand price!

I would also list on Loupe Troop and Diamond Bistro.
