How much for a four prong platinum pave setting

I have sourced a wonderful 1.7 oval diamond from my local jewler. However I am having some trouble with the setting. The setting that i have chosen is to be custom made by Gabriel and co. The setting is quite plain, four prong, pave style 3/4 around the band, approximately 1.6 mm in platinum. I was quoted 2800 to create the setting. This number sounds quite high compared to some of the other settings I have located around the internet. Are there any justifications to paying so much for a simple pave in platinum? I understand craftsmanship is important but do I need to spend so much? Thanks for any help.

Whats your timeline? I would get a quote from David Klass. 1.6mm is pretty thin mind you.

James Allen has some but I dont think their pave is the finest but you can check them for price...

Edit...you can ask BGD if they can do this for an oval...they will probably charge you more due to the different shape.
