How many e-mails do you get in a day (personal and work combined)? How many do you actually respond to? How long do you estimate you spend answering e-mail?

I''m just curious about what a "normal" volume for e-mail is...

Depends...during the school year I get maybe 20 actual emails a day (not including store ads, sales, things like that). I would say about half need a response, and I always respond right away if I can. It's a part of my "touch it once" mantra that helps me keep it all under control.

I probably only spend 10-15 minutes a day answering emails unless I need to research an answer first for something OR unless I am writing a long email to a friend which happens a few times a week, and then I might spend 1/2 an hour total. I think that's because I try to shoot a response right back if I can, saves me from looking at it more than once.

I probably get about 20 e-mails a day... I respond to 1 or 2.

I''m a SAHM, so no work related emails, but I usually get 10-20 emails a day. Most of them are things forwarded from people who think they''re funny. I respond to maybe 5. I get tons of spam and several company sponsored emails that I automatically delete.

I get a lot. Personal- perhaps 10, work is 30+ depending on the day. I try and respond to the personal ones as timely as possible, especially if it's a friend that lives in a different state. That number is shifting some as I finally gave into Facebook and now do a lot of the personal messaging there, but in a way, I suppose it's not really that different.

Work ones depend on urgency. 60% generally require action. I'm changing jobs in a couple weeks and I have a sinking feeling the email volume is about to ramp WAY up.

I get 75-100 work e-mails daily, sometimes more. I get copied in on most of them as updates so that I know what''s going on, and I only have about 25-30 to reply to a day. Managing my in-box drives me nuts sometimes. I really try to keep no more than 300 in my inbox and either delete or archive the rest, but I think I''m at around 2,000 right now. I take about an hour a week to work on sorting, saving and deleting, but it gets away from me.

I get about 10 a day at home, but those are mostly junk e-mails from companies I have ordered from.

In the mornings I''ll usually have between 15 to 20 waiting for me mostly from our coworkers in other countries. Throughout the day I''ll get about 30-40 between bosses asking questions, other requests and my Fi

I respond to all so my inbox is always read!

I''d say I average 2 - 3 personal emails a day and always respond to those. At work I get over 100 per day, sometimes over 150...I actually have a billing code for organizing emails. The majority of them are internal and maybe a third are from clients, so I end up responding to about 50 - 75.

I got rid of my blackberry about a year ago, I just couldn''t deal. I''m able to put work email aside now, even if people sometimes have to email me twice.

Work about 75 - 100, school (I teach one class) about 30 - 50 a day, and personal about 10 - 20 a day. I answer about 1/3 of them all.

No business/work e-mails for me. . .mine are the following:

10-15 personal e-mails and I answer about 7-10 of them.
5 fwds per day and I never answer those.
30+ junk mail e-mails from places like Sephora, Ulta, Banana Rebublic, etc. and I respond to all of those by whipping out my credit card.

I get quite a few. I get my bills sent by email as I opted for paperless billing and I get mail from friends too. I reply to most of them quickly but one friend deserves a lot of time and effort in an email so I may not respond the same day. I like to spend time replying to her so I wait till I have plenty of time.

I have email converstations with a couple of good friends and they are usually one or two lines back and forth.

Hmmm. I probably get about 10-25 work emails a day, depending on the day. I have a friend in Arizona that I keep up an ongoing email string with on my personal email, and those can totaly over 50 some days, LOL.

I don''t have email in work so I just have my personal emails which is about 2-4 per day, just from friends and occasionally from college.

for work we have 2 email systems so I get about 40-50 per day..some have nothing to do with me at all.....I respond to maybe...10...personal emails I get about 20-30 a day and respond to like 5 or 6........

I normally get about 30 work emails and 10 personal emails per day.
I usually respond to about 15 of them.
I would guess I spend about 30 minutes responding.

50-70, and about half are things that are junk or something I don''t need to respond to.
