i was thinking of this the other day and i also noticed DF hasn''t posted a question in a while

mine is half an hour, relatively short for southern california

about 10 miles

Ha ha I have the shortest commute ever right now for someone who isn''t self employed! DH and I are in the process of a move, so right now I am living at my boss''s house (I''m a Nanny). So I literally roll out of bed in the morning and I am at work!

10 minutes to work, 30 minutes to university.. any further than that and I get irritated

Depending on the traffic, between 10 minutes and an hour. Usually around 20 minutes.

Mine is about 30 seconds. I home office, so it''s a matter of walking from our bedroom to my office in the front of the house. I travel quite a bit too, so those "commutes" balance out my 30 second commutes.

too long!! 1.5 hours there, 1.5 hours back.

I''m a stay at home mom so no work travel for me except for the 20 min commute each way, every day, 4 times a day to drop off 2 of my children to 2 diff. schools with 2 different start times. I''m dizzy by the time the day ends.

My husband is 10 miles from his job..so the ride in the car is abour 20 min without traffic.

20min-30min, depending on road conditions and construction. Soon, that will be shortened to 20 min max! woohoo!

My commute is 45 minutes with no traffic or 4 hours with a bad accident. Most days its an hour and 15 minutes. This is for about 60 miles or so from Providence to Boston.

I was a PT teacher until about a week ago (all in the position I held are terminated at the end of each school year) and my commute was about 7 miles, a 15 minute car ride. Now that I''m back to substituting, for the next few days anyways, it varies, but is typically no more than 30 minutes.

A 15 minute walk

My commute is about 30 miles one way. Depending on traffic, it can take me anywhere between 40 minutes and an hour.

My prior commute was ONE MILE (I lived in a different city at the time). Sadly, I drove to work every day because I was always late.

9 miles

two blocks

20 min by subway

28 miles one way about 40min average, on really good days 30 minutes, on really bad days about one hour and 15 minutes

It''s 10 miles, door to door. So it''s about 15 minutes to get there, and about 30 to get home. If there''s rain or an accident, it''s about an hour.

I really wish I lived someplace where I could walk or ride my bike to work. I hate driving and being stuck on the road.

Roughly 4 miles?

8 minutes on a good day. 15 when there is construction/accident/unusually heavy traffic or when I hit every damn red light on the way home.

Mine is 40-45min each way (22 miles).

I don''t have a "real" job as I just watch a few kids on the side. . .mine is 5 minutes each way!

I was offered a job that had a 1 hr, 20 min. commute each way. The money would have great, but I''d never see my kids and since the position fell through (the company is now laying off many employees), I''d avoid any job with such a drive.

38 miles each way. Minimum time is 45 minutes but sometimes add another half hour for traffic

About 6 seconds..from my bedroom, to the dining room, where I open the laptop, sign on every morning, and see what online orders I have to fill, for my home business!

It can''t get any simpler than that!!

That's pretty good. My husband's is about the same, but before we moved it was up to 1.5 hours with traffic

yuck! My commute is always different, working at a different location all the time... usually at least 15 minutes though, usually not more than 45 minutes.

I work 10 miles from home- It can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes, depending on traffic and if I catch any trains. (

hate trains!!)
Since I leave home so early in the morning, I really never hit traffic on the way to work. (I''m at work by 7:05) On the way hiome, if I have a staff meeting or something else to sat after for- I might hit 1 or even 2 trains, which SUCKS!!

25 minutes door-to-door, including metro ride and short walk on each side.

I commuted an hour to school each way when I was in college and swore I would never commute that long again. I think a half hour each way is my limit.

It's VERY part time, when I feel like really working the business I do, and it can be quite lucrative! (Taking time off right now). For now..I simply check out what people across Canada have been ordering. The products get shipped directly to them from the company I represent. There's no effort on my part! It's kitchen/food items, and I love them, so I do it more for fun. If someone asks me to throw a party, I will, the products sell themselves! (BBQ's are a hit right now..but I've had to refuse a few requests , since I am choosing to spend all my spare time with my dying father). No other "job" would allow me to be this flexible. I love it. I don't do it for the $$..but it's great when people I don't even know from various parts of the country stumble upon my website and place their orders! It's unexpected $$ ! Those who have tried the numerous product line tell me they love the quality, price point, and taste (food items), so it's a rather easy way to earn a couple bucks (to spend on sparklies!)

. It's more of a hobby I think!

Two hours and fifteen minutes each way. But I only do it about three times per month.

40 miles each way. Generally about an hour each way but if its raining or Friday I am looking at 1.25-1.5 hours.
