I am very curious... I am looking at packages for photogs and I am trying to determine how long I will need them for... I was them to do some pics of me getting ready... and maybe some of FI (already he will probably say no way... he is camera shy) and then obviously the ceremony and then reception.. so how long do u think? prob 6 but I''d think closer to 8 right??? because like 30-45 mins prior to ceremony... then ceremony... then our pics... then reception.. im totally lost...

Thanks in advance!

before the ceremony. Then add the ceremony, pictures after the ceremony, and reception on top of that, I am looking at 6 hours. However, I am having a 10:30 am wedding (so yes, pictures start at 7:30

), so we are having a brunch reception and no dancing. If your photographer starts taking pictures way before the ceremony and you plan on having a longer reception, you will need more hours. Hope this helps! [/b]

Mine is coming at noon, ceremony is at 3PM, pictures in between and then reception. I believe I have 10-12 hours included, most photogs will stay until late in the reception until they have gotten all the pictures, all the reception events and some dancing. I do believe most do not stay until the end, there''s really no need to. And like blackpolkadot says, you will probably need at least 3 hours before ceremony for pictures.

A decent package should include pictures beforehand, the ceremony, and reception. Most have a certain amount of stops that they will do i.e. you getting ready before, church, one picture stop in between and reception. Don''t be too concerned about hours as opposed to what is included. We had engagement photos included, as well as a second photographer and some stops to take pictures between ceremony and reception. And take a look at the album, this is what you are paying for (besides the service) and it should be what you want most of all. Also ask about your proofs and copyrights, most places will give them to you once you reach a specified dollar amount (achieved by ordering prints after the wedding).

We had our photographer for 5 hours, and it was a good amount of time. Our photographer and her husband (who was also her assistant) took photos of us getting ready. Then they did the usual: ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception pics. Our photographer left before the reception was over, and we didn''t have any type of grand exit photos taken, but we were fine with that. We were actually the last ones (with my family) to leave the restaurant, where the wedding and reception took place.

I think that 8 hours is probably good. This will get you a good amount of time before the ceremony of you and your girls getting ready (if you have a bridal party) and your FI. Then tack on ceremony, shots of just you two, and all of the important reception events (first dance, toasts, cake cutting, bouquet/garter toss if you have one) and some dancing. I feel like with only 6 hours of coverage you''ll be stressing about the schedule and making sure you get enough shots.

We had ours from 2pm - 11:30pm (ceremony started at 6). Our photography package included all day coverage so we could stipulate what time we wanted them there at. A lot of the photographers we met with didn''t stay that late in the reception, but I have to say that some of the pictures from the end of the reception are by far my favorite of my friends and family. Everyone was dancing til the very end and having such a good time. I''m glad that we have pictures of it!

I agree with Blair138

Our ceremony is at 230p and the photographer is coming to get me getting ready at 12noon. and he''ll stay til 1030-11ish.

Our photog''s full day is maxed at 8 hours, and we will be using all of those hours! Our ceremony starts at 6:30, followed by the cocktail reception and then the dinner reception, which will last until midnight. Thankfully everything is in one place, so that will be less of a hassle.

We are having her come at 4:00 pm (2.5 hours before the ceremony start) to have her do some getting ready shots and family shots and we will have her and her assistant with us till the end

. I am hoping that everything will get done in that time and that we won''t be stretching it too thin, but I guess we will see...
