Hello all you diamond lovers! I have been lurking on pricescope for a couple of months and taking in all of your knowledge!
I will soon be celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary and I have known for a long time that I wanted a diamond upgrade and so I have been hinting around to my DH. About two months ago he said to me "Ok, our anniversary is coming up and I know you want a new ring because you''ve been hinting at that for years. I do not want to make the mistake of picking out a ring you do not like so.....will you just pick out the ring you want"? I know this was really hard for him to do because he LOVES to surprise me. I of course said yes! I did a google search and found this web site. THANK HEAVENS!! I have learned so much and I never even knew that cushion diamonds existed! I thought I wanted a princess cut halo but after looking at all the rings on this forum I am totally in love with cushion halo''s!!
After laboring over this decision and getting no "guidelines" from my DH I finally had to ask him. I told him it would be easier for me to narrow down the ring I want if he would give me a budget. He simply replied "Get the ring you want, I don''t care how much it costs" Oh man.....that was dangerous!!!
I contacted Mark at ERD and told him I wanted a chunky cushion in the 2 - 2.5 ct range. He said it might take him a few days to get back to me. It was only two days before he called me and said he had two stones. He sent me the pics and GIA certs. I had him call me to tell me about each stone. I didn''t tell him which one I liked better until he was done describing them. I liked the one he said was the superior stone. YAY!
I am having him put it in his version of the classic H.W. with matching wedding band. He said it would take 2-3 weeks. So my question to you is ....How long did it take you to get your ERD ring? Needless to say I''m having a hard time concentrating on anything else!
